<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">AUBURN - Auburn University's best men's basketball player has filed papers to enter the NBA draft, but has not hired an agent and could return to the Tigers next fall. Guard Toney Douglas, a freshman All-American last season, will announce his intentions to enter the draft today. He plans to attend summer school and has until June 28 to remove his name from the draft. Douglas doesn't plan to enter the draft unless it is clear he would be a first-round selection. ESPN college basketball analyst Andy Katz said Monday night Douglas is not likely to be drafted in the first round. It is not uncommon for players such as Douglas to test the draft waters. At least 43 college underclassmen and high school seniors have made themselves eligible, and more could join before today's deadline. Four SEC players have declared for the draft, including Alabama's Kennedy Winston, who has hired an agent. </div> Source
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KICKSDADDY613:</div><div class="quote_post">Who?</div> He was a guard for Auburn and led the team in scoring with 16 points per game as a freshman. But he is not even close to be ready for the NBA. IMO, he needs to play for Auburn for all 4 years because his defense isn't exactly the best, but he did make a lot of steals with 43, and he still needs to work on his passing game.
LOL! I know who he is from a technical standpoint. It was more of a mock scout response, because it's the first thing a GM or scout would say if they saw that printed. Which, by the way guys (shouting to all the early entry idiots) IS A CLEAR SIGN TO TAKE YOUR ASS BACK TO CAMPUS! Or get on campus to begin with.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KICKSDADDY613:</div><div class="quote_post">Who?</div> (Don't worry. I got it.) In my opinion, Toney Douglas will never be an NBA player. He put up great numbers (around 17 ppg if I'm not mistaken), but he did so on one of the worst Auburn teams in the last ten years (which is an understatement). The next best players on the team were Ian Young and Quinnel Brown. Douglas may be one of the best players in college basketball if he stays four years, but he won't be drafted because he's your classic tweener. If Salim Stoudamire at 6-2 is a stretch for an NBA shooting guard, then 6-1 Toney Douglas has no chance.

Somebody stop me when I hear an actual player with the ability to even reach out and tickle the first round declares. Glad this is over as of Saturday. And Then we can get back to watching them all scurry back to college after Chicago that second week in June, when they either dont get a call or a scout asks the kid to run and grab him a Kit Kat from the vending machine, mistaking him for a local middle school student trying to steal a players hemroid ointment! Damn these kids frustrate me!
there are a few who realize they have at best, some hope to be a late rd 2,and enter eyes open. Some of those also realize they have so little academic ability they are licky if they stay eligible. It is a laugh to see a guy declare who is not on anyones list for round 2...but he thinks maybe a team will make a terrible mistake and pick him first round. It has happened before.
