<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Philadephia based columnist Stephen A. Smith reports that the San Antonio Spurs and the Indiana Pacers are discussing a possible sign and trade deal.

"They are on the phone right now with the Indiana Pacers talking about the possibility of working out a sign and trade that will enable them to acquire (center) Brad Miller in favor of Tony Parker and a couple of other players. Therefore, they can then go after Jason Kidd," said Smith while appearing on Fox Sports Television's Best Damn Sports Show Period late Wednesday evening.

"(By making the trade) you fulfill your need for a big man, while getting a stellar player like Jason Kidd," said Smith.

"Or, they can elect to go after Jason Kiddd without trading anybody, plus they can entertain the possibility of bringing Alonzo Mourning on board along with Jason Kidd. They have tremendous options."

I don't like to believe ESPN message boards..but this might not be a lie....spurs with maybe getting kidd..parker wouldn't want to be on the bench....and pacers need a scoring PG while brad miller could help duncan replacing robinson...i don't know about this...

I don't think they would go after miller, i think he would be safer in the EC. I can see them getting Alonzo though. I think they should keep tony even if they sign kidd...

that makes no sense. i can't stand stephen a. smith, he's never right. the spurs can sign kidd without having to trade parker already. and with the duncan & kidd tandem they can easily attract a big man free agent to their team.
