<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>SENDAI, Japan ? San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker will not play for France in the world championships after being diagnosed with a broken finger. Parker had X-rays on his right index finger in Japan on Thursday and was informed Friday it?s broken. Parker injured his finger in a tuneup match against Brazil on Tuesday in China. He?ll be replaced on the roster by Mamoutou Diarra, said Fabrice Canet, the team?s press officer. "He practiced on Thursday with his finger bandaged and was in some pain," Canet said. "He wanted to stay, but will return to the United States at the request of the Spurs." France will open the world championships on Saturday against Argentina.</div>This really sucks for the French team. I thought they definately had a shot for a medal with TP, Diaw, Pietrus, and others..

Wow, that sucks. To be there and not be able to go all the way because you get injured, that's terrible. But, it's a good thing he's coming back to the U.S. to undergo treatment because if he injured it again, it would have been much worse...

This is going to be hard for the french, they were suppose to be on of the favorites to win the gold for the world championships, but since parker isent playing in it i don't see france doing anything big
