Wade3, Your list looks very similar to this one from another forum. Regardless this is a good topic.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>1. Shaquille O?neal, Miami Heat2. Brad Miller7.) Mehmet Okur8.) Eddy Curry9.) Chris Kamen10). Alonzo MourningIm surprised to see Okur drop on so many lists. He is one of the best scoring centers in the league.
You guys are overrating big Z.1. Yao Ming2. Shaq3. Marcus Camby4. Ben Wallace5. Brad Miller6. Mehmet Okur7. Zydrunas Ilgauskas8. Chris Kaman9. Eddy Curry10. Tyson Chandler (does he count?)
1) Shaq2) Yao Ming3) Marcus Camby4) Z5) Brad Miller6) Big Ben7) Mehmet Okur8) Eddy Curry9) Alonzo Mourning10) Chris KamanRunner up: Chandler
1. Shaquille O?Neal, Miami Heat2. Marcus Camby, Denver Nuggets(Could be first if not for all those injuries) 3.Yao Ming, Houston Rockets4. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Cleveland Cavaliers5. Brad Miller, Sacramento Kings6. Ben Wallace, Detroit Pistons7. Chris Kaman, LA Clippers8. Mehmet Okur, Utah Jazz9. Alonzo Mourning, Miami Heat(Don't know why, haven't watched him for years, just following other people's lists)10. Kurt Thomas(I just have to add him. He made the Suns offense much better and was a big loss with his injury. He doesen't have very gaudy stats, but brought the team some toughness and much needed interior D. He also has a very nice mid-range shot. He is undersized but has played center the last two years so he can be put here.)
Big Z's defense is horrible. He used to be a pretty good player, but he's just a clutz out there. Brad Miller's offense more than surpasses Big Z's. He has the full game. Great passer, good scorer, 3-point range, decent defender, good rebounder. Big Z is good at setting picks and getting offensive rebounds, and he has a pretty good midrange. How does that outweigh all the upside the brad Miller has??
You know though that Ilgauskas has as many points as Brad Miller per game and plays 9 minutes less so the offense can be debated. Big Z's D was pretty nice when I watched him in the playoffs and he averaged 2 blocks per game. And mavsfan and Rok can tell you how bad Miller's D was, they like to do that.
1)Shaquille O'Neal- Old, but still the best and most dominant in the center today.2)Yao Ming- Big center, can shoot from the 20 and has solid rebounding for a center.3)Brad Miller- Can shoot further than an average Center's range, solid rebounding and defense.4)Zydranus Illgauskas- Good scoring, nice range.5)Marcus Camby- Average scorer, excellent defender, shot blocker and good rebounder.6)Ben Wallace- Amazing defender, excellent shot blocker, great rebounder. Great ball thief.7)Mehmet Okur- Great shooter (for a center) solid scorer and nice inside presence.8)Alonzo Mourning- Great defender, great energy guy he makes a big impact when he plays after Shaq for the Heat.9)Eddy Curry- Can score, he was doing well in Chicago and worsened in NY, but should improve, he's a good scorer just needs to improve ball-handling skills.10)Kwame Brown- Underrated. He has talent, but is either too dumb or lazy to use it. He needs to practice ball-handling, but otherwise he's a strong center who can make easy buckets.
1. shaq (why would anyone put yao in front of him? what has yao done in his career?)2. marcus camby3. big Z4. ben wallace5. yao 6. brad miller7. chris kaman8. alonzo mourning9. eddy curry10. jamaal magloiremehmet okur is a pussy. he's not a center anyway he's a forward. yao's a pussy too but at least he'll bang inside. okur sits on the perimeter and shoots 3's. :thumbdn1:i think some of the guys you're all naming aren't really centers. i'm pretty sure kwame brown is a pf and okur certainly isn't. look at his player profile it says F. there aren't many centers in the league.

He averages 20 and 10. One of the few.

Okur, he plays Center more than half the time. Kwame has been playing center since mid-Febuary early March.
