Lol No more dunking? He really wanted out of Toronto.

Carter was kind of annoying based off what I saw, but aside from acting stupid to get traded, I don't see anything egregious on the list. The "not playing 100%" refers to the era he wanted out I believe.

Chutney, could you give me some other inside info on why you're so upset aside from the trade thing?

Is there something the video is missing or could you provide me with some perspective? I'm curious.

I don't think going to his graduation affected the last shot in game 7. I really don't.

Overall, how was he that game? It's a serious question.

And as for "No more dunking", it's not like that really changed in NJ. When was the last time we saw him dunk on a consistent basis, like he would early in his career?

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Vince arrive in time for the Game 7 shoot-around the day of his graduation?

Its one thing to sum up the injuries/wussiness, the "no dunking," the lack of effort, and the sudden turnaround in NJ in a clipshow. But its an entirely different thing to watch it every game for 3+ seasons. That video brought back memories of those years. I supported VC so much early on and I defended him when he was at his lowest, but the dude was totally dismissive of the responsibilities and attitude that's expected of a leader and franchise player. In all the sports teams I've followed, I've yet to see someone take everything for granted like that and be so damn weak. It was frustrating watching him continually squander his potential and after all the controversy, I just want to forget him.

The graduation thing is stupid, though. I never understood why people harped on that.

The only one of those reasons I have a beef is the graduation thing. He had a great game on that day.

If I remember correctly he was still at the arena five hours before the game after attending the graduation. That was incredibly overblown in my opinion.

First of all, why are you posting this piece of crap right now and here?

Anyways, this piece of crap clip is just an example of the type of quality sports "news" shows up in Canada and how they have to reach to find reasons to hate on Carter and rile up fans to do the same. The reasons they listed in that piece of shit clip were either completely overblown in who gives a shit or things taken out of context and stuff that were misreported. They should stick to covering hockey.

    10) This story about Carter tipping off the play in order to try and "sabotage" the Raptors was pure crap. First of all, the Raptors scored on that play and Carter was the one who found an open Matt Bonner (a very good shooter) who buried an open jumper. Score Raptors. Assist Carter. What a great way to sabotage the play. Second of all, Ray Allen was guarding Carter on that play and standing right next to him and said he didn't hear anything from Carter about tipping the play. Third, the source for the accusation backed off later and said he didn't hear anything.

    9) I believe this story came out after the Sam Mitchell-Rafer Alston altercation and Michelle Carter said that Mitchell also got into it with Vince when he was in Toronto earlier in the season. Vince said that it didn't happen so either it didn't happen or it did happen and wasn't that big of a deal and wasn't suppose to get out and Michelle shouldn't have gotten involved. Anyways, the hating on Vince because of his mother was an overblown point.

    8) Once again they don't report the story properly about the no dunking comment. I saw the coverage when it first came out. When they first started airing the comment they were doing it in soundbites like the " I don't wanna dunk anymore" comment. But later on when they showed the full interview the reporter was pestering Carter with questions and Carter was getting annoyed and responding sarcastically with the reporter. The media ran with no dunking comment not putting it in proper context of the situation. And Carter dunked the next game after that comment.

    7) This one doesn't even make any sense. So the fans were mad at Carter for not giving up his allstar spot to Jordan even though it was the fans who voted him in as a starter in the first place! And Carter eventually gave up the spot to Jordan anyways.

    6) So what if Carter struggled through injuries? Why hate on him for that? Although his reactions to some injuries sometimes? Ok, fair enough, people can hate on that a little bit.

    5) That was great!

    4) Graduation thing was overblown! Jeez, they came within one shot in the opponents building of advancing.

    3) Uh? Who cares? That was a pretty legitimate reaction! Was saying the same thing to myself.

    2) Thank Babcock for that trade.

    1) That TNT interview was misreported and taken out of context.

Wow, I wonder who knows more about Vince, you or FOMW.

    Haha, just kidding. Interesting post.
