Here's Kelly Dwyer's top-10 (actually top-9 'cause he removed Iguodala) from last August:

    Shooting Guards

While Dwyer's small forward list works almost as well nearly a year later as it did when written, this one needs serious revision. I'm good with Wade and Bryant at 1-2, but after that you pretty much need to wipe the slate clean and start over.

    Rounding out my top-10:

    Ginobili
    Martin
    Ellis
    Johnson
    Eric Gordon
Ray Allen (Old Man River just keeps rollin' along)
    Richardson
    Edit: Terry

Feel free to beat hell out of my choices...I had a tough time with these.

    You listed 9 ;-)

Jason Terry should be up there with the 2nd tier. Jamal Crawford is close to top 10.

If I had to have a SG on my team just for next year, I think I'd go with these guys (excluding Kobe and DWade):

    Ginobili
    Johnson
    Ray Allen
    Eric Gordon
    Monta Ellis
    Kevin Martin
    Stephen Jackson
    Jason Richardson

Man, the SG position is thin.

Yeah, that kinda struck me as well. You don't have to be all that good to be top-10.

Obviously not your top-10, so I take it these are the 2nd/3rd-tier guys you'd like to see the Bulls get, right?

I think several of those guys are right up there with Jackson and Richardson. And Evans was good enough for Sacto to trade away Kevin Martin. Evans is a stud.

Some of Denny's list certainly would deserve consideration

Didn't catch many Kings' games this season and Evans only played in one of the games against the Bulls and was pretty meh. I know he had some problems with the dreaded plantar fasciitis, but looking at his stats, "stud" wasn't the first word that came to mind. For a SG, that 3-point shooting needs serious improvement.

It'll be interesting to see whether Sacto keeps him and Thornton, who played very well after being traded to the Kings, long term or deals one for something else they need.

FWIW, Wade shot .306 from 3pt.

True dat...Evans could still be a stud without the consistent three ball...if he could average something like 24.7ppg with 58.1% true shooting instead of 17.3ppg on 48.2% ts.

He was hurt and double/triple teamed the whole time. And he's only 21.

Agree that he's a very nice young player and I'd love to have him.

Interesting, three of the four guys most talked about on this forum aren't in the names listed so far. Mayo, Lee, and Afflalo.

That doesn't surprise me at all. Who was ever asserting that they were top 10?

Mayo seems to by a low risk / high reward move. At worst he's a sub $10m 6th man type, and at best he's the starting SG alongside Rose for a decade.

Maybe worst case is we let him go as a UFA when his contract is up.
