<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">1. Manhattan at Seton Hall, Nov. 14: Buzzards are circling a good man, but Seton Hall coach Louis Orr sure could use a win in the opener against Manhattan -- coached by Bobby Gonzalez, who is coveted by fans at various Big East schools.

    2. Lamar vs. Southern Miss in Fairbanks, Alaska, Nov. 18: Loser of this game has to take its juco roster to the Jayhawk Conference. Winner of this game? There is no winner of this game.

    3. Murray State at Cincinnati, Nov. 19: Let the Cincinnati Sweepstakes begin. Assuming interim coach Andy Kennedy isn't given a fair shake to replace Bob Huggins, one rumored candidate is Murray State's Mick Cronin. (Yeah, right.) This is the first of five straight Cincinnati games vs. coaches likely to be mentioned as candidates: Cronin, Holy Cross' Ralph Willard, Dayton's Brian Gregory, Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings and Ohio's Tim O'Shea.

    4. Georgia at Western Kentucky, Nov. 26: Dennis Felton's first game back since leaving for Georgia two years ago. When he was a rising star at WKU, a clause in his contract stipulated that his next school would have to play a four-year, home-and-home series with Western Kentucky. The contract proves that WKU athletic director Wood Selig is the world's smartest Selig. And also the world's smartest Wood.

    5. Duke at Indiana, Nov. 30: Petty Indiana high school coaches and media voted Duke-bound Josh McRoberts third (!) for its 2005 Mr. Basketball. Mr. McRoberts returns, and he brings Mr. (Shelden) Williams and Mr. (J.J.) Redick with him.

    6. Arizona at Houston, Dec. 3: Kudos to anyone and everyone involved with this little beauty. The fulcrum is Arizona assistant Josh Pastner, a Houston native (and son of Houston Hoops AAU founder Hal Pastner) who has helped Arizona sign the city's best player every year since 2003: Ndudi Ebi, Jawann McClellan, Fendi Onobun and (next year) Nic Price. Two years ago Pastner was a candidate for the Houston job that went to Tom Penders. For the short haul, Houston chose wisely. Long term? No way.

    7. Gonzaga at Washington, Dec. 4: Months later, when the NCAA Tournament selection committee awards the Oakland region's top seeds, this game will be discussed.

    8. Florida at Providence, Dec. 6: Florida's Billy Donovan makes his first return as head coach to his alma mater, which he helped lead to the 1987 Final Four.

    9. UMass vs. UConn at Hartford, Dec. 8: The Huskies want payback for last season's loss, but new Minutemen coach Travis Ford ain't scared. On a side note, UConn freshman point guard Craig Austrie, who backed off his UMass commitment after Steve Lappas was fired, should have stayed. He'll start this game for UConn with Marcus Williams out, but Austrie already has been recruited over. Who knows. Maybe he'll transfer to UMass.

    10. Indiana vs. Kentucky at Indianapolis, Dec. 10: Something good always happens in this one. Don't take your eyes off IU coach Mike Davis. Not for a second.</div>

Well I think the idea of this was to generate interest in other lower tier games other than the typical UNC/Duke/Wake Forest/Maryland/[insert ACC team] rivalries that everyone knows. Some of them are interesting though.

Some of the matchups are very interesting-I am really looking forward to the Washington/Gonzaga game. I think that's going to tell us a lot about both of those teams.

I agree with you but there is one game on that list that I am looking forward to more than all the other games. Indiana vs. Kentucky. Indiana is on a mission to prove to the NCAA that they are back as an elite force again and what a better way to make some noise would be to beat Tubby's Kentucky squad. On the other hand, Kentucky is one of the most underrated schools in the country this year IMO and would have something to prove. That should be a good one down to the wire.

Duke vs. Texas is the premier OOC game this year. Bar none.
