Well I'm just saying, why the hell would we wanna read about Vince's family feud or read about how much he wants from his wedding guests? Focus on sports
I can't believe the Star allows these type of articles to be published. I can tolerate the Sun putting up this garbage but to have the Star doing it just kills me. The Star is supposed to be a respectable newspaper and now they're slowly being reduced to another tabloid-trash paper. I don't mean to rant, but what really ticks me off is how Toronto media shows favouritism toward the ever so precious hockey. They pick on the other "less important" sports because they feel they can get away with it. If the star chose to attack Matt Sundin's personal life instead of Carter's, they'd be in SERIOUS trouble right now. The Star did the exact same thing to the Blue Jays last season when they published that article with the headline "White Jays" (a criticism of how the Jays only had a few non-white players.... a bunch of irrelevant non-sense), so now it's the Raptors turn to be hit with the cheap shots.
Your example was dumb. Vince Carter is the most popular athlete in canada, and just because this is a hockey country doesnt mean they'll care if the fingers pointing at Sundin. Everybody else is laughing about Carter, why not the Star? To whoever was trying to be the big smart guy, Vince Carter's agent told babcock that VC wants to be traded and even gave trade possibilties. If it wasnt true then why would babcock return with his statement of how Vince puts fans in the seats and they would want someone in return who could do the same. That doesn't mean he is gonna get traded but how often do General managers keep their word on a trade, huh? not to often.

Moreover, many reputed sports publications like si have cited that article. as for matt sundin, he isn't a media whore like carter, so hence the lack of attention. plus, do we know who matt's sundin mom is? do we know who jalen's mom is? do we know who delgado's mom is? what i'm trying to tell u is that vince mom's puts herself out there eliciting criticism. lets be be blunt, michelle carter promotes herself as an educator with a master?s degree and the world greatest mom, the truth is her youngest son chris carter (who coincidentally his my age, 22) has a serious cocaine problem and has been in out of prison. i'm surprised the toronto media doesn't expose the hypocrisy of michelle carter and the carter clan.
Yea buddy, we all saw that Beyond The Glory episode. So you sorta proved my point, vc is a media whore and sundin isnt, sundin just plays what hes paid to do and he doesnt get the good recognition that he deserves.
Look, I don't mind the Star criticizing Carter on his game, but for them to go into his personal life and attack him crosses the line. And to say that since we know who his mom is, that would jusitify all the low blows then I'd have to disagree with you on that one too. It's not Carter's fault that his mom doesn't mind the public eye, so why should he be punished for it? It's none of our business if Carter keeps in contact with his grandmother or not so they shouldn't publish an article like that in the sports page.

Secondly, just because everyone else laughs at Carter does not give us the right to. And besides, everyone makes fun of him because of the way he plays the game and because he's a momma's boy, but they wouldn't hit him this low. They wouldn't dig deep into his personal life and bash him.
I think the articles are totally out of bounds. You can say he is paid millions, but the truth is he is paid millions to PLAY BASKETBALL. He's not paid millions to have scum reporters dig into his personal life. Trust me, Vince's grandmother and father got paid cash for that article. That's what's sick about it. The sports section is about SPORTS, not personal drama of athletes. Nobody knows the whole story so people shouldn't base opinions on a column that is written tabloid style.
I don't wanna read VC did this, VC wants that, Ai did this, Kobe....... I wanna see Basketball. What happens outside of the court isn't my business.
