thanks for the game thread but i hate blonde chicks. big news in raptorland is that triano is openly contemplating lineup changes and said that as much three changes might be made. i guess bosh and turk are locks to start so the other three might have their starting jobs in jeopardy.
I would prefer Calderon to come of the bench but is Jack really that much better. And it would make sense to bring Derozan of the bench considering how little Triano plays him anyways.
one hour closed door meeting just occurred. here's the unofficial transcript team: bargnani, dude u suck!!! and same goes for u caledron!!! caledron: guys, we're a team!!! triano: calm down boys!!! lets look at game tape iavoroni: yeah there were a ton of blown coverages in last nights game pat obryant (whispers to rasho): who's the dude getting all professorial on us? rasho: he's our defensive guru (snickering) sonny: hey demar, this n****r done talking? demar: yeah, he said something about switching, all i know is that its bargnani' fault. man i cant believe im taking a pay cut to play for the raptors when i could have been livin it up back at USC wright: at this point of the meeting, i would like to say something- i've started on great teams and i understand what it takes to win in this league- it takes effort, dedication and starting me marco (whispering): hey bargs, is it me or does this dude need braces? he's got a big arse gap between his teeth bargnani: i think this guy thinks people take him seriously around here, talk to me when you hit the rim on your jumper triano: chris, any thoughts? bosh: yeah jarret: let me interject, i speak for both of us when i say- its bargnani's fault and i should start reggie evans: i be sensing hate in this here locker room, we brothers from different mothers. u know i have 7 kids with 6 different mothers and they got more harmony than we do triano (whispers): alvin, dude translate- i didnt get a word he just said alvin: i think he compared his kids to us or something like that, i havent been back in the hood since i left for college, im a republican now alex english: gentlemen, who thinks i should be the next head coach? bosh (whispers to jack): he actually speaks, i thought he was a mute all this time colangelo: when i was in phoenix and i built a championship team ... banks (muses to himself): somebody should tell this cat that he never actually won a championship and he wouldnt be in the nba if it wasnt for his daddy. but then again i cant hate on bad gm's because im pimpin for life because of them colangelo: i think we got a lot accomplished this afternoon, i think thats enough for today. hedo (walking in all flustered): sorry i missed the meeting boyz but i did bring popcorn for everyone!!!!
That's some pretty funny shit. It's good to be able to laugh during times of crisis. It keeps you from going insane. BNM
I know you hate Bargnani, but from the few games I've seen this season, he's not a bad man defender. The main problems with him are help defense, toughness, and rebounding (although that's improving). On offense, he's added new facets to his game, he drives to the basket far more, is making good passes and is shooting a pretty good percentage.
btw, the popcorn line was a followup to wright bashing a unnamed teammate for eating popcorn before a game.
He may have improved his rebounding, but he's still pretty bad. Prior to this year, he was the worst rebounding 7-footer since Brad Sellers (based on total rebound percentage). His previous career best was 10.0. Since they started tracking TRB% back in the early 1970s, there have only been 9 times that a 7-foot tall player, who averaged at least 20 MPG and played in at least 50 games, had a TRB% of 10.0 or less. Bargnani has 3 of those 9 seasons (3 for 3 in his first 3 seasons). Here's a link to the list. After his 0 rebound effort against Atlanta, he's now at 11.2 this year. Yeah, it's better, but it's still embarassingly bad for a starting 7-foot tall center. At least he's had a few good rebounding games this year. Unfortunately, he's also had a lot of bad ones. BNM
Derozan is having a good game scoring wise according to the boxscores. Has he been taking over or are they gimme points?
It's been a team effort but he's attack and playing like he should. Has had 3 or 4 dunks, including an alley-oop from Calderon. Impressive. Hit no jump shots though. Take that as you'd like.
Great 1st quarter. Holding an opponent to 17 points in a quarter is a huge improvement to the 30+ points per quarter they have been giving up lately. Can they maintian this intensity level and get the win? BNM
The second unit ha troubles turning it over. They held Jamison to 0 points. Okay, it was because of fouls, but if it weren't for Boykins and Arenas and the turnovers, this game is a blowout.
my sentiments exactly. notes -triano is substituting guys in and out of the lineup really quick; dont think thats a good move because players need to establish a rhythm -bosh is very pass orientated, cant remember a shot he forced in the first half -hedo is playing efficiently -wright looks discombobulated and upset with his coaches -jack needs to calm down when he's running the offense -caledron was really pushing the ball in the first quarter -derozan is super aggressive and teammates are really looking for him, especially on fast breaks
yeah but the wizards came out flat and jamison was in foul trouble so they have a legit chance at winning
i cant believe the raps were celebrating like they won the championship, in fact, that might be worse than the 5 game losing streak. notes -hedo finally hit a shot of consequence -derozan was awesome -did anyone catch that arenas blew by jack like he wasnt even standing there on the last possession? -bosh's best game in weeks -caledron's best game since that clipper game a few fridays back, maybe he likes friday's -bargnani chucked big time but his rebounding and defense was actually not so glaringly bad
