I haven't posted here in awhile as I thought the few of us who did had given up on this site. I see 59 and mat tingly back on so I will resume posting and hopefully a few more will post also. Im worried about cashman screwing up the team further and giving away guys like Lombard, Jones and Schittler for rentals! Imo our biggest need is 2 good BP arms that throw hard. A 3rd base upgrade would be nice and compared to what we have there now anyone that can field and bat over .220 would be a big upgrade LOL. Well have Gil back in a few weeks so a rotation of Fried, Rodon, Gil, Warren and Schittler with some Stroman thrown in is survivable. Ill be surprised as we get into august and/or September if we don't start hearing about innings limits for warren and schittler. When that comes I would use one or the both of them in the bullpen for the rest of season and playoffs. we also have a kid names arias down below throwing 100mph. Rather than get more DFA types (a cashman specialty) why not bring up kids from the minors that throw hard and give them a shot in the bullpen and see what you have there. I haven't seen any pitchers seemingly available that would be much of an upgrade over what we already have. Now Schittler could be a flash in the pan but the kid throws 100 and Id like to see another start or 2 from him before I put him in a trade for a rental. Like Judge, Jones is a late bloomer who is very good defensively, good speed and big time power. He seems to hit a hr every game at triple A and had 2 more yesterday. I'd sell high on Grisham right now and see if he can bring back bullpen arms and bring jones up and put him in center and see how he handles major league pitching. Looking forward to this series with Toronto starting tonight and looking to get back some payback for the debacle a couple weeks ago! Anyone else wish the yanks would have tried Bellinger at third like jazz last year who never played there before as Bellinger seems to be able to adapt to play anywhere and see if he could have done it. Or Rice.
Good to see you again, Mel. This franchise is a complete and utter failure from top to bottom. And nothing will change as long as Hal continues to ignore the obvious, which is that Cashman is a horribly over-rated GM and that Boone should have been given the job as skipper in the first place. We are once again forced to watch a poorly constructed roster and if not for Judge, I'd probably stop watching the Yanx all together. And btw, it aches me to see Mattingly in the Blue Jays dugout.
