We have two one is worth 4.2 million and the other is worth 1.5 million. We can get serious help with these. If you don't know what a trade exception is, It is something you can trade to a team for a player straight up. Why would the other team do this? They would do this if they are trying to clear cap space. the 4.2 TE can really help us get a legitamate player. Morris Peterson and Fred Jones come in that range for the TE. The 1.5 TE isn't as big and the player we get in that deal won't be an instant impact player.
Fred Jones is a free agent, so Indiana won't likely do a sign-and-trade unless they unload Austin Croshere's contract as well or something. Most likely I see us trading for a high-salary player and using the TE to deck the deal. Or they can just run out...
Hmm. Maybe we can use our 4.2 mil TE on MJ. That is if it doesn''t use up our MLE. If it does and we can't get anybody this offseason, then its a last resort. What about Stephen Jackson. Would he be a good fit for the Rockets?
you can't combine a trade exception with an existing contract in making a deal and you can't use it to sign free agents
