I posted this in Nets 08-09 schedule released, but no one gave any feedback.so again, don't bash me for this but would yall be opposed to a Swift and Sean or Boone deal for Jamal Crawford, if he agrees to opt out next year. (There was an article saying he might opt out to get Monte Ellis money) It makes sense since we get a shooter and they need talented bigs.

Crawford is a good player, and on its face that sort of deal would seem to be in the Nets' favor, but I don't see how Crawford would fit on the Nets right now. It's unclear how many minutes he'd get, and the Nets might not need a shooter as much as you think. The Nets' material weaknesses right now are lack of depth (and talent) in the frontcourt, and an overreliance on players with less than two years of experience (Sean, Yi, Lopez, Ryan, CDR, possibly Jaycee, maybe even include Boone and Hodge because of all the injuries they've suffered). If you could magically turn Swift, Ager, KVH, and Trent Hassell into Elton Brand, the Nets would have a heck of a team. Much better, I think, than if you could magically turn Swift, Ager, KVH, and Trent Hassell into Carmelo Anthony. Getting Crawford wouldn't really address the weaknesses, as I see it.

D'Antoni likes Crawford too much, so this trade won't happen. It would only be considered for salary cap.

Since the Nets are looking to rebuild, I don't see how acquiring Crawford would help. He's more of a missing piece to a team looking to contend.

Why would the Knicks or the Nets ever trade with each other?

I dont expect any trades during the Olympics. It's like trading during the NBA Finals. Every team but the two teams in the Finals is permitted to do a deal, but out of respect for the Finals, they don't try to upstage the NBA Championships. No one is going to want to upstage the Olympics...and particularly with an Olympic athlete like Nocioni. Bad form.
