is Mashburn the C or the F I can never remember which is which. If hes the center then Wally for Mashburn would be good.
Mashburn is not a Center. He's a SF/PF depending on matchups/systems. IN all honesty, I can't see any reason why N.O. would do this, unless they are getting back more than just Wally? Mashburn has had his share of recent injuries, but he's one of the best producers in the game when healthy. Where exactly did this "rumor" come from?
Jamal Mashburn is a big SF and if this was 2 or 3 years ago Minny would be smart to do this trade. He has an excellent post up game & playing alongside KG, he would cause alot of matchup problems because alot of wing guards & forwards can not guard Mashburn in the post area. And he use to be excellent at creating plays like 4 to 5 assist a game. But with that being said with Jamal Mashburn has missed alot of games every where he has went in his career from the Mavs to the Heat to the Hornets. And has also contributed to chemistry problems in Dallas with the 3 J's and last year in New Orleans with Baron Davis. The wolves need to be very sensative about the chemistry of this team, its perfect right now. Buit with emotional players like Spree,Sam,KG the slight wrong move could very well change that. So I think the Wolves should pass on this trade. And go back to the drawing board to find a different away to improve.
I'm not sure why we would do this. If we don't resign Hassell, yes a SF will be in need, but I'm not too sure I like this one. Jamal is a great player, I will give him that, but it's the injruy's I'm worried about. When he returned from injuries a little over half the way through last year, he wasn't too bad, but his injury's are too big of a risk I think. As Henacy said, go back to the drawing board and find another trade. I think we should package Wally and Kandi and go for a center. Thats IF Hassell is signed. I say we hold off until we find out what happens with Hassell.
Well this trade is bad imo. How many games did mashburn play last year? He would be a huge risk it would be like signing grant hill at this point in his career to a max deal. I would not do this trade until I had a 100% insurence from doctors and all that mash would be able to play. Wally gave us a huge lift off the bench losing him for a player who was injured all last season would not please me. We could get a better deal for wally if we do deside to trade him possible a deal involving 1st round pick or two from a team so we can build our future since we dont got one for a couple of years. Also look for a center in the trade if we trade him. Like mabye a sign and trade with sactown for divac. Or a trade for dampier.
the rumor can from a sports show in new orleans.., mashburn only played 19 games last season (but its not like wally played much more)

well this trade was proposed before the draft. the trade would be mash and the 1st round pick for wally. we were going to get the pickk to take nelson. They took jr smith. I think the trade would be good with smith because i see smith as the most nba ready high schooler taken in the draft.
