TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Indiana and Minnesota being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and Minnesota had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. We already have a whole thread dedicated to trade propositions, but I guess that is alright. I don't think we can afford to give up Szczerbiak and Sprewell at this point in the season. Along with Cassell, they are the two guys that can give you solid production every night. Not saying every night both of them, but one of the two will score a bunch. Also, it would not be the smartest thing to do in getting Artest. He is still out for the season, and trading him wouldn't magically get rid of his suspension, and reputation. Like I said, we can't afford to give up two huge scoring threats, and a below average center for those guys. Artest is still suspended. Bender has never lived up to his expectations, and wouldn't get much playing time. And Croshere is not nearly worth it. He is coming along, but this trade is still out of proportion for the Wolves. If we accepted this, Indiana would be aboslutely rejoicing.
Well I don't think the Pacers would be rejoicing or anything because they have to give up many players from their team including the reigning DPOY even if he is suspended for the entire year. They would be getting Wally in return with a inconsistent, selfish and old Spree and a bust in Olowokandi who looks like he doesn't know what he's doing on the court. From the Wolves perspective it would be a bad trade unless they have already given up on the season and is looking at next season because Artest won't play this year. We get a injury prone Bender, Scott Pollard doesn't get to play much so I don't know about him but he is a average player. The only player who would be a positive is Croshere who is having his best season but were giving up our second leading scorer, Wally and Spree who is streaky but is a scoring threat. We would be giving up too much and it would leave us with little depth at the 2 and 3 with Hassell and Hoiberg being the only reliable players at those position. Croshere could play a little at 3 and Bender could also play that position when healthy but it isn't worth it.
