Washington needs someone who plays good perimeter defense, this thread is just to get an Idea what Wizard fans would like to see.

NOTE: If your trade is out of the picture, very lop-sided, or just plain stupid..I will delete the post

    First off:
    Washington Trades: Jarvis Hayes
    Washington Receives: Mickael Pietrus

    GS Trades: Mickael Pietrus
    GS Receives: Jarvis Hayes

Due to Washington and Golden State being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Washington and Golden State had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    ---------------------------------------
    Trade 2:
Washington Trades: Jarvis Hayes / Juan Dixon
    Washington Recieves: Shane Battier

    Memphis Trades: Shane Battier
Memphis Receives: Jarvis Hayes / Juan Dixon

Due to Washington and Memphis being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Washington and Memphis had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    Opinions?

Don't mind the Battier trade at all - but no way Memphis would take that. Battier was one of the best bench players in the league last year.

Don't like the Pietrus trade though, don't think he's solid enough to give up Hayes for.

Personally I think that we have to let things gel a bit - wait until Kwame and Etan come back and we have a little more time for the team to form into a team. Right now the guards can't be aggressive because there aren't always the bigs back there to back them up on defense. Also, we're turning over the ball way to much (it was 17-8 in the Philly game) but that's just a symptom of playing a guard oriented style - no post game at all. Let's wait for things to settle a bit, then we can look for a trade if need be.

I was thinking the other way, Golden State IMO would be stupid to give up Pietrus for Hayes, I guess you haven't seen this guys defense first hand, great defender, and has offense too. He can also do all the other things like handle the ball, pass, and is a freak athlete. He wasn't called the European Jordan for no reason.

both horrible trades. You guys are underrating Hayes AND Dixon. Though Dixon needs a change of scenery. Mark my words...if Dixon goes to a team that fits and need him this year...he'll be an allstar consideration in 4 years.

[IMG] ...the scary thought is, he was serious [IMG]

Are was watching the same Dixon buddy? The one who has a good game once every 10 games. The one who is the streakiest shooter I have seen. The one who is undersized and plays no defense? Yea he will never be an allstar consideration.

Pietrus is better than Hayes to IMO, he is more athletic, better rebounder and defender. I would take him over Hayes.

Pietrus is the real deal.. on defense and is solid on offense, all he needs is playing time to show what he's got, but instead the Warriors are letting Jason Richardson mess it up on offense and Defense...

I Think They Should Try To Make A Run At Zo. Alonzo Did Go To Georgetown, And Is From Chesapeake VA. Might Aswell Try To Attempt To Get Him. Here Is A Trade I Believe The Raptors Would Do With Us:

    Toronto Trades:
    [IMG] C Alonzo Mourning($5,408,700)
    2004-05
    Statistics
    PPG 10.4
    RPG 7.10
    APG .8
    EFF + 11.78

    Washington Trades:
    SF Jared Jeffries($1,528,400)
    G Juan Dixon($1,123,500)
    F/C Samaki Walker($995,046)
    Cash

I Think This Deal Will Give The Raptors The Backup To Rafer Alston In Juan(Though Id Hate To See Him Leave), And A Good Defender In Jeffries. Alonzo Would Become A Starter For Us To Have The Three-Headed Rotation Of Brendan, Zo, and Kwame.

Although, Maybe We Should Trade Kwame While He Has Value, I Know He Will Not Rise In Washington After What MJ and Doug Collins Did To Him. So Trade Him, So He Can Succeed Elsewhere. We Should Try Trading For A Small Forward Or A Center.

I wouldnt mind acquiring Zo, but I dont think he would want to play here. He wants to go to a team that is ready to win a championship now..not 3-4 years from now.

Trading Kwame would be one of the worst moves we could do IMO, He has looked really good this year in the limited minutes he has had. He is only about 60% healthy. I think when he gets to see more minutes and is about 85% healthy we will see what he will really be able to do. I think he will become the third option on the team and we will see Hughes stats start to fall. Eddie Jordan has a lot of faith in Kwame or he would of shipped him out last year.

Note- Its nice to have you here, its always great to get another Wiz fan, but next time you post, please do not capitalize every word. Thank you
