Wilt Chamberlain (twice), Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Moses Malone and Oscar Robinson are the five cases...

Wilt - Shaq is nowhere in his league, so him winning a championship after being traded (twice) shouldn't be mentioned with Shaq's name

Kareem - Showtime, anyone? Plus, he could've done it by himself, the way the league was set up back then...centers were successful in winning titles if they were the most dominant...

Moses Malone - He did it with Dr. J on his team...and Dwyane Wade is far from being as good as Julius Erving

Oscar Robinson - He was traded to the Bucks to win the championship...with Kareem Abdul-Jabar on his team. Sure, everyone knew this duo would win...

I'm not trying to put down the Heat, but Odom/Grant/Butler were a nice addition to Wade and Jones. But...Wade and Jones don't even come close to what Kobe was to Shaq, and if Kobe and Shaq couldn't work together to win two years straight, then how can it work with these guys? Yes, they're in the East...and I do believe they have what it takes to even win the East, but to win a championship, they'll have to beat the best in the West...and considering the Spurs (Parker/Manu/Duncan), the Timberwolves (Cassell/Sprewell/Garnett) and even possibly the Kings (Bibby/Peja/Webber)...these trios would really put a beating on a Heat team with a 2nd year starter, a guy who hates to play with Shaq (Jones), and a 32-year old who's lost a step or two in the past year. I see them possibly winning the East, but not without a fight from the Pistons and Pacers...other than that, I don't know.

if kobe and shaq dont lyk eachother how are they gonna work together? dwyane and eddie dont care if they have to throw it in to shaq every play. In LA kobe and shaq already won 3 titles so kobe wants to make a name for himself and he takes shots wen he should be passin to shaq. In miami i think shaqs gonna score so much more besides the fact hes in the east but because he playin with more unselfish players

^^ JOnes and Shaq have bad blood between each other. I dont care what they say, they still do. They will not work well together IMO. I hear they are even attempting to move Jones so that Shaq will be happy.

Oh, and Detroit will eat the Heat Alive in the East. It looks like their team will still be intact. I love shaq (ive been following him since his days at Orlando), but the Heat wont get past Detroit, if they make the playoffs. I dont even see them making it pass Indiana.

One positive about aquiring shaq. The Heat will fill their seats and revenues will be up big time.

^ I have been following EJ from his days at Temple University under John Chaney, playing with Aaron Mckie in 1993 and one thing I know about EJ is he has character. And he is not going to let petty situations that happen 7 or 8 years ago,get in front of the overall Miami Heat team goals, what ever they may be. Especially beefs from when both parties were pretty much still early in their basketball careers. And everybody on the Lakers were pretty much beefing during that time despite them being a competive 55 win team every year. Van Exel was beefing with coach Harris, EJ was feeling the pressure because the crowd & media & pretty much everyone wanted Eddie Jones starting over him and everybody hated Kobe because he was such a hot shot. So it was far more than just a direct beef between EJ & SHaq.

Eddie Jones has been thru alot in his NBA career and he is smart enuff to know that his most successful years in this league(combine winning & being an all-star) was playing along side Shaq in LA. I think that Eddie Jones in certain ways hasnt gotten the respect he deserves in Miami due largely in part because he is getting paid like a franchise player and he isnt, which I can understand. But I expect EJ to use the situation as somewhat of a ressurection for his basketball carreer. There is going to be alot of media focus & pressures on the Heat now that Shaq is there. And EJ is going to be ready to step up to the task imo.

And as far as Shaq demanding Eddie Jones out of town I doubt he will do so. He has already said that this is Dwyane Wade's team. So I doubt that he would come in making demands right away on a team he is just trying to fit in on right now. Especially since he said he wanted to come to Miami, because they were a team & have great chemistry. Demanding a trade of the guy that has been a staple of the Heat for the last 5 season is a great away to kill team chemistry that Shaq loved so much. Shaq isnt that crazy in my opinion. Especially when its a guy who will be making 12 or 13 million per the next 2 season and has a contract makes it hard to trade him even if the heat wanted too. So all Shaq would really be doing is just creating problems by demanding EJ gone with a slim chance of accomplishing his goal.

Shaq main focus now will be getting ready to dominate the league next year to prove the Lakers stupid for handing the keys of their franchise over to Kobe. And EJ has already said that the trade is an exciting step forward for the franchise. So even if he doesnt like it from a personally level all signs show that he is willing to except it and make the best out of the situation for the better of the team. EJ & Shaq will be fine in my opinion. The Heat, now need to concern themselves with bringing cheap role players to surround their core 3.
