Whenever I see "Randy Lange" on KFFL, I know that it's about the Jets trading up for Leinart.

Whenever I see "Randy Lange" on KFFL, I know that it's about the Jets trading up for Leinart.</div>I like Leinart, dont get me wrong....but there isnt a single player in this draft thats worth the Jets trading our first, second, and third round picks for IMO. There is no need to trade up for Leinart when we could select Cutler right where we are sitting at and there is no need to trade up for Bush when we could trade down for LenDale White or DeAngelo Williams. With how stingy our front office has been on holding strong on offering a 6th/7th rounder for Ramsey and getting a first round draft pick in return for John Abraham, I dont see there being any way that the Jets package up several picks to trade up for someone. This is obviously a regime that puts a heavy value on their draft picks and trading up would make 0 sense for us since we have many holes to fill. Not only that, but this is complete speculation by Randy Lange because he is reporting "The New York Jets have been rumored to trade up with the New Orleans Saints for the No. 2 overall pick in the first round". In other words, it could happen....but theres no reason to even report about it as you dont have any evidence that we have even called New Orleans about it. All this is stemming off of the Jets bringing in Leinart, Young and Cutler for private workouts so now people are assumeing we might be looking at trading up.
Despite rampant speculation, it doesn't appear the Jets will try to package their two first-round picks (fourth and 29th) to try to move up to select USC quarterback Matt Leinart. They've also cooled on Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler. http://www.nj.com/jets/ledger/index.ssf?/b...7770.xml&coll=1"We have three picks in the top 35," Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said in a conference call. "If an opportunity came along, we'd evaluate that opportunity. But we're happy where we're sitting. It's an excellent opportunity to infuse three good young players onto the roster."

The deal was suggested the day after they got their 2nd that the Vikings might use those 3 picks to acquire a top 5 pick in order to draft Young or Leinart.

"It's way too early for that," he said. "I know we will get some calls. We've never been a team that has shied away from trading up, trading down or taking the pick. We're interested in listening and hearing from everyone involved. I know we'll hear from teams."</div>The Jets havent been in any talks with the Saints about trading up. Thank god.
