Well, after about 3 months of just casually checking up on these boards I'm ready to get back in full swing once again for the 04-05 season! [IMG]

Looking forward to this season. I really don't know what to expect. We can our division or even end up missing hte playoffs entirely. I don't know what to expect except that I know this new squad will play their asses off unlike last season where they gave up in Mid-December.

Can't wait! Opening night is in 30 days!!

P.S-This is one of the best Magic boards I've seen. I'm glad I found it. [IMG]

I completely forgot about training camp...

    Good to see you back...

Hopefully the Magic boards liven up a bit in the coming days...
(I'm really tired from only those Hill-comeback and Tracy's baseball game topics...)

I was dying over the summer without my bball! This board rocks, and I am psyched about getting it on this season.

Day Two: Recap courtesy from NBA.com Link

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Day Two: Recap

The second day of an NBA training camp tends to be a little tougher on the players. Their bodies are sore and their muscles are tired after the first day of practices. However, when the alarm goes off the next morning, everyone answers the bell and gets right back to work.

The Orlando Magic completed another spirited workout on Wednesday morning at the UNF Arena. Day two brought the same drills, but this time with a little more intensity. Players got after each other on both ends of the floor and continued to learn the style and philosophy of Head Coach Johnny Davis and his staff.

One thing that is starting to materialize for Orlando is the versatility that the 2004-05 roster will bring. Steve Francis can play point guard or shooting guard. Grant Hill is an all-star small forward, but can also handle the point. Rookie Dwight Howard can excel at power forward and can slide over to play center. The list goes on.

?It helps having guys that are versatile,? said Francis. ?During the early part of my career, I?ve been a 40-41 minute per game guy. If you don?t have to be the one bringing the ball up for 48 minutes, it helps. Sometimes you can use a break and play off the ball. I think it?s good. Hopefully we can continue to thrive on that and work on it and get it better.?

This group of Magic players brings many options to the table. Davis will have several different lineups that he can feel comfortable putting on the floor at any given time.

?We have lots of flexibility,? said Davis. ?Grant (Hill) is able to handle the ball like a point guard, Steve Francis is a very capable scorer, so we can move him over to the ?2? spot. And we have that flexibility with several people on the roster, so that versatility will hold us in good speed as we move forward.?

Near the end of practice, the teams took part in a controlled scrimmage, with the players broken up into three teams. The ?blue? team of Hill, Francis, Howard, Keith Bogans and Mario Kasun scored six straight baskets to take control of the contest ? some with Francis at the point and others with Hill quarterbacking the squad.

Being flexible and versatile should definitely pay off in the long run.

They sure didn't split those teams up fairly. Hill, Francis, Howard, and Bogans? [IMG]

I know it's early but it's great to see Hill out there already playing the point. I can definitely see JD going with Hill at the point and Francis at the off-guard during crunch time in games.
