Saw this on another board. A fairly lengthy interview taken before the Spurs game. Kind of hear a different side to him. Its interesting. Apparently he and T-Mac don't talk too much off the court. I guess its not a big deal if they can still win. And they're both quiet types.

I'm a little worried to hear that Yao and Tmac don't talk to each other that much... and that Yao's shouldering all the blame by himself... Hopefully the atmosphere will change there once they start winning. You can't go far if you're always depressed.

On a brighter note, I read the recap on tonight's game and it's good that Tmac felt embraced and loved by his teammates after the game. Hopefully he will open up more and more and create better chemistry with the team.

I think the win will definitely inspire the team as a whole, not to mention the fact that McGrady seems to be improving steadily. Not only did they beat one of the top teams in the league, but they did so after being down 10 in the last minute of the 4th.

I agree with SupraJames, the last game against the Spurs should inspire the team to work harder and get to know each other. After the game, McGrady seemed very emotional with everyone celebrating, I mean, they really looked like a team after they won out there. Both Yao and McGrady are quiet players so it might be harder for them to connect off the court, but as long as their on court chemistry is top notch, there shouldn't be any problems.

An article in the Chronicle today mentioned something about Yao often visiting with McGrady at his new home...

    So, which is true?

So, which is true?</div> Yeah, I read something like that too, I don't think it was the Chronicle. McGrady and Yao don't know each other well, when Yao first came here, Francis was here for his whole career, it was HIS team. Now, McGrady comes, and Yao hasn't been asked for the leadership that Steve carried with him. McGrady, doesn't wanna butt in, and he is already a quiet person (according to J. Howard). No one really knows who the leader of this team is yet, but we all know that Tracy is growing into that role, and Yao is settling to be the second man on the team -- which I don't like -- but we are on a winning streak, so I can't really complain. Just my 2 cents.

No link SupraJames...I read it in the hardcopy of Friday's Chronicle. Wasn't an article about Yao and Tracy or anything, just happened to mention it.

On the same topic, I was at the game tonight and noticed that every time the Rockets got up from the bench after a timeout, Yao grabbed Tracy's hand and they got up together, and I mean every time. Seems to me like they're getting along well.

its interesting to see Yao's take on the teams problems and how he seems to place the blame upon himself. It must really get him down sometimes, which could also add to his poor game. I think he needs to relaz and think less bout the problems and just get the job done. He'll play much better that way.

well if yao is anything like the average chinese person he'll do anything it takes to fix it. he blames himself because were taught not to blame others or seek ways to blame them, but to look at yourself and see where teh blame falls upon you. i hope this can make him stronger.
