<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Chicago Bulls have come to terms with free agent Gary Trent, according to Marty Burns from Sports Illustrated. Trent, who played last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, is expected to sign a non-guaranteed deal and join Chicago for a physical exam on Friday. "Gary wanted to be in Chicago," said his agent, Andy Miller. "He felt it was a great opportunity to join a team that's rebuilding and in need of his services. He also feels confident that he fits well with Coach [Scott] Skiles' mentality. He's a grinder, a tough guy, a lunch pail guy." Trent joins a somewhat crowded Bulls frontcourt that already includes Antonio Davis, Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler and Othella Harrington, but Trent gives Chicago added flexibility in case of injury or trade.</div> Full Story
I like this move  Gary Trent is a good rebounder with a nice shooting touch and he is tough as nails, strong and plays much bigger than his 6'8" frame would suggest. A very good pick up for Chicago and that will probably sure up the Bulls roster. They have good depth at 4 of the 5 positions PG: Hinrich/Williams/Wilks SG: Gordon/Piatkowski/Robinson SF: Deng/Nocioni/Griffin PF: Chandler/Harrington/Trent C: Curry/Davis/Trybanski The biggest question mark would be a the 5. Curry? still a question about conditioning/Davis is solid but undersized/Whobanski ?????? Williams was showing some flashes last year,Wilks is fast as lightning,Piatkowski can shoot the lights out,Griffin is not a scorer but is a solid veteran defensive presence,Harrington and Trent add toughness and the 3 rooks it remains to be seen but by all accounts there is greatness in Gordons future and I expect Deng and Nocioni to be solid. In all i would say it was a very productive off season for my beloved Bulls and they may not be done yet.
I like Trent's game. I hope he makes the roster. This may be a sign of AD being traded, or he's just here to add depth. Either way, I like the move.
