Why did Bobby Marks mention that in his segment? Throws out a 4 yr, 50 million deal to "keep an eye out for."

I would love that deal given what guys like Malik Beasley got. And no immediate tax implications since it would kick in next season.

Because he’s eligible for one. Hopefully they get it done.

I wonder if Trent will bet on himself. 4-year/50M isn't a whole lot higher than an MLE

Klutch worries me. No way they let happen to Gary what Nurk's prior agency did to him.

I'm not worried about Gary, I want him extended but if not let him test the market, he's restricted. We have the final decision.

I'd love that, because of the Beasley deal. Can see Trent betting on himself as well, though.

I'd like to see Trent extended to about 6'9".

Call in Strenuus for his alleged all-world reach-arounds!

I think 4/50ish is a max contract for Trent, since he is a second round pick there are more restrictions on the contract he can get. Maybe it's part of a revised Gilbert Arenas provision. Someone more up to date on the current CBA maybe can confirm exactly... but thats what I recall hearing at the start of the bubble; his max was around only 50mil.

I don't think that's true. He has a 3rd season left on this contract so an extension signed now would start in his 4th season. That would put his max at 25% of the cap

but I don't know the CBA well enough to say that's right

It's a pretty big contract for what was really an 8 game sample size. We'll see.

I would agree, if it was just those 8 games they were judging this one. But as Lab said, he was solid for about 2 months prior to that.

Contract seasons can be tricky.....I remember when we thought Alan Crabbe was worth a big payday and Nic Batum.....Trent should get an offer from us but not a huge offer. Hopefully he will want to stick in Portland

Trent is very different to Crabbe, obviously a much better Basketball Player but he also has that dog in him. He's like a Pitbull

His stats were fine, but I really don't think he came into his own on defense until the bubble. Those 8 games showed me he could actually be a 3&D player that I'd want to pay 13 million a year to.

13 million would be a steal for bubble Trent

I agree but he is also playing for a contract....my example was Crabbe did the same....got paid after his rookie deal for a good season...and I think Trent is a keeper...just not at a huge price tag given our roster and cap

I could see him maybe agreeing to a two year with the second as an option. I think he will want a chance to start somewhere if he continues excel.

My hope is he sees himself as the heir to the Blazers next starting core when Dame is past his prime...
