The one with the bicyclist that just turns into the bus is the perfect microcosm of the sense of entitlement that bicyclists exhibit every single day on the streets of Portland.

I was driving up Capitol Highway towards Hillsdale and there were a few bicyclists peddling up the hill in the bike lane. One of the riders was faster than the other and just as I was about to drive past them, the quicker rider jolts into my lane to pass the other rider. He didn't look. He didn't signal. He didn't wave. He just went. The arrogance and laissez faire attitude about his own life was simply astounding. He just assumed that I was going to stop. For someone wearing the bare minimum of safety gear, you'd think these people would be more alert and aware of their surroundings. I ride a motorcycle and when I go out riding, I wear helmet, leather jacket with armor, leather pants, boots, gloves, etc. I wear bright colors and I'm on a vehicle that can out accelerate most cars if I find myself in a tough spot.

These guys are wearing spandex and tiny plastic helmets on a piece of equipment that requires manual labor to get it to move. I just don't get the cavalier way that they approach riding.

Thank man! The song ended perfectly with the video too! It was my second viewing and increased the entertainment value 10 fold.

I much prefer this one. Fast forward to 0:31 or so.

These people are so stupid. How hard is it to look where you're going?

I HATE bicyclists. They are a scourge upon humanity.

Like you, I once had a close encounter with one. Years ago, I was driving southbound on 112th Ave in Vancouver, going up-hill. And if you've ever been on this road, you know how notorious it is for being so narrow, and how fast people can go with the posted speed limit (40 or 45, IIRC...could be wrong though...). As I was cresting the hill at the 40-ish MPH range, there was some slow hippy woman in my fucking lane (right lane) having just cleared the crest; not standing up and peddling in earnest, but sitting down and peddling as calmly as can be. And she was doing that front tire wobble that all cyclists do when they're going slow but trying to keep their balance, which meant that there was absolutely ZERO room for me to pass her at the speed I was going without hitting her.

And ALL THIS TIME, there was a perfectly usable, surprisingly wide and well-kept city sidewalk right next to her on the right. But nooooo, had to be in my lane.

So I brake hard with traffic behind me, signaled and head-checked, but had someone next to me in the left lane, and a line of traffic behind him. So I was forced to go from 40 down to less than 25 in a matter of split seconds. I honked at her, which surprised her enough that she stopped very suddenly and fell against the curb long enough for me to go around. And she had the audacity to smile and give me some calming hippy-wave as I passed. Had I not been concentrating on not trying to hit the people in the left lane, I would have given her the finger.

Fucking idiots. And the WORST part about all of this is that the larger, heavier, and more difficult to stop vehicle HAS to, by law, yield to them, or it's our fault. And whoever thought that putting bicyclist on busy roads with multi-thousand pound cars going at speed was a good fucking idea needs to be shot. The bike stands a better chance of getting out of a car's way than we do getting out of theirs. It's common sense and logic: cars of any size, no matter how good the braking, cannot stop on a dime. Bikes can turn much sharper, quicker, and stop more easily than a car ever can.

And Semi-Trucks use this road occasionally. If this had been an 18-wheeler cresting this hill instead of my tiny Kia.....

It's ridiculous. We drivers shouldn't have to put up with this nonsense. Even bicycle lanes are a nuisance, and rarely ever safe.

I'm glad someone actually did it! It just worked so perfectly for me, I thought I would share.
