Last night he was playing CB in the second quarter, he did all right, but he was covering Billy McMullen if I rember right. Do you guys think he will get time to go 2-ways? Iam not hearing any news.

I saw that on the highlights and did not know what to think.

It could be that Belichick was taking an opportunity to mind games w/ the rest of the league by saying there will be no complacency & resting on the laurels like the Rams did.

Maybe they want to carry an extra WR on the team and one less DB. And if there were a few injurys in secondary, Brown could be put in on an emergency situation. Just a thought.......

Head coach Bill Belichick's explanation for working Brown out on the other side of the ball is this: "We are just trying to create depth for our team. That is all. You know, it is like taking a tackle and teaching him how to play guard or taking a defensive lineman and putting him on the offensive side of the ball for a goal line short-yardage play. You know, you go into a situation where you run short on people during a regular season and it is good if you have depth. It is a little late to wait until the tenth week and say, 'Oh, geez, we have got a couple corners hurt, who are we going to move over?' It is a lot easier to try to build it now and try to create some depth. So that is all we are trying to do. You know, we have four experienced corners on the team and then some other guys that don't have a lot of experience. So maybe Troy fits in there, maybe he doesn't. But if we are going to do it, I would rather look at it now than right in the middle of the season where everybody has got a lot of other things to worry about."
