It seems the Minnesota Timberwolves are on top of the league right now, but Troy Hudson should be very unhappy with what's going on with the team. Hudson has three things to worry about. He has a nagging injury, Sam Cassell has come in and taken his playing time away, and his contract expires after this season. Hudson has it all backwards. Players usually have breakout years the year before they become free agents then get injured once they sign a big deal, not the other way around. So how would you deal with this situation if you were Hudson? Last season he felt he proved himself by averaging around fourteen point a game, but now he's injured and when he comes back from that injury he'll have to battle for playing time with the hottest player in the NBA (as far as play goes), Sam Cassell. To make matters even worse he has to look for another contract in less than forty-five games. Could a possible trade be in the works involving Troy Hudson?
Well, he has a great fan base here in Minnesota and it won't be that big anywhere else. If I were Hudson, I wouldn't leave a place where I am loved. Besides, with Cassell in the lineup, you have all the time in the world to get better, so I would stay here to get healthy. And you would probably learn a thing or two from him.

Why would you want to stay on a team and "learn" (or in other words "bench") when you could start on a team like the Los Angeles Clippers or the Orlando Magic? I see him going to the Magic, because they can offer him the money he wants, the playing time he wants, and he has a fan base in Orlando.

Even if he was going to leave, they would probably sign and trade him. But if he wants to win a title, he should stay in Minnesota. He isn't going to win a title in Orlando anytime soon. And you know about the Clipper curse.

You left yourself wide open on this one, but apparantly you haven't realized that the Timberwolves share a similar curse. How do you know that Hudson wants a title anyway? If someone asked me if I'd take eight or nine million dollars or five or six million dollars and a chance to win a championsip, then I'd take the three extra million dollars.

But you said what would you do if you were Troy Hudson, and I would take the ring. Your still making a million more dollars than a lot of people, so there is really no need. And he has his own record label he gets money from. Not everyone is a hometown hero, but he has a fan base that sees him as one around here.

He'll take the money nine times out of ten. Also, he has a fan base in Orlando, a large one.

Some people play basketball for fun, not the money, and I'm one of those people. And the honor of winning the highest prize in the NBA is very rewarding. And if you win a title and still have a little juice in you, then go to another place and get the money. Did you know that if you win the NBA title, you get a bonus. So either way, you get money. Yes, he does have a big fan base in Orlando, but I believe the one he has here is bigger, so I wouldn't try to leave that.
Troy is not going to Orlando first of all... he came from Orlando and they didnt give him much a chance down there. Minnesota gave him his first chance, and I think they get big points with that. I think when Troy gets back to full health, we are going to see a 3 man rotation at the gaurd spot, with Wolves playing small ball with both Sam and Troy in the game at points. He will get minutes, maybe not 35 minutes like he wants, but he will get as many minutes as most 6th man candidates in the L. Will he resign, I am not sure, its a matter of how far the Wolves go in the playoffs, how much he wants to win, and how much the Wolves incorportate Troy into the Wolves sucess.
