Trump administration urges Supreme Court to end Obamacare despite the pandemic - and its legal brief makes no mention of coronavirus
  • In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the Trump administration on Thursday urged the Supreme Court to overturn the Affordable Care Act
  • Some 20 million Americans could lose their health coverage and protections for people with preexisting health conditions
  • In the case before the Supreme Court, Texas and other conservative-led states argue that the ACA was essentially rendered unconstitutional
  • It came after Congress passed tax legislation in 2017 that eliminated the law's unpopular fines for not having health insurance
  • The Trump administration said 500,000 people who lost insurance during economic shutdown have gotten coverage through HealthCare.gov
  • But the administration's legal brief makes no mention of the virus

An estimated 27 million people may have lost job-based coverage due to layoffs, and it's unclear what - if anything - they're turning to as a fallback.

Street begging, that's what their fallback is.

Anyone that supports that Trump administration when 125,000 Americans lost their life with no end is sight is pro-death. Pure and simple.
It's an embarrassment really. They all need to be shamed.

Is he trying to lose the election

Tired of winning yet?

I might agree with you but I believe there are some, even in here, who certainly don't look at it that way.

Somewhat along your line of thought I was thinking that maybe I should wish for him to get Obama Care destroyed. Perhaps that's the only way for people to realize just how evil he is. It's gonna take the deaths of an awful lot of people before a lot of people are going to realize how mesmerized they've been by Trump and his Svengali like effect.

Some people won't realize it. But, many already have

Eliminate it and the chickens will come home to roost. Not that it matters much since Trump is already going to lose in a landslide.

Bump! So did Donald DipShit reveal his tremendous healthcare plan yet?

He will in a few weeks*

*from tomorrow. It's always 2 weeks from tomorrow.

"Today, President Trump signed an Executive Order to end surprise billing and announced the Trump Administration will send prescription drug discount cards to over 33 million seniors."

this is from official white house link you supplied ,only problem is this news today.

White House puts off action on surprise medical bills, punts to Congress

Work in progress....

Today, President Trump signed the first Executive Order in American history to declare it is the policy of the Federal Government to protect individuals with preexisting conditions and ensure they have access to care they can afford.
this is already guaranteed by the existing affordable care act that trump is trying to disband.

he utterly fails to provide details concerning the implementation of his plans. many of his promises are out of his hands and power to complete.
#rubbish

It's garbage. Companies might insure people with pre-existing conditions but charge exorbitant rates, or not treat the condition. Ending Affordable Care Act also brings back lifetime limits, so if you have cancer, or need a heart transplant, or have serious Corona virus complications you could reach your limits.
In the past, pre-existing conditions were things as minor as adolescent acne.
I had to pay higher premiums for health insurance on a job than male colleagues because being a woman is a pre-existing condition. It is, but I never thought it was a disease.

On the flip side, look at the Dow. Who doesn't have Millions in the Dow? Fuck them.

When I lived in Portland, the place I worked changed insurance providers. They said pre-existing conditions would not be covered for the first year. One woman was pregnant. She lost coverage for her prenatal care, labor and delivery, and neonatal care. Her husband was self employed and covered by her insurance. They both worked so she was ineligible for Medicaid.

Pro life!

Trump supporter Eric Erickson said covering pre-existing conditions diminishes personal responsibility.

I am very healthy with no significant bad habits. But I am a woman, age 66, and have arthritis. So I was very irresponsible for being born female and getting old.

Doesn't make sense, does it.

Shame on you for choosing to get old and be a woman.
