nobody knows better than Trump. Ever get the feeling, when you hear 'no body knows better than me, repetitively, that person knows nothing at all; ie the least informed in the crowd...

scroll down, and you'll see Trump say: "I met with the president of the Virgin Islands" which would be him. A day after Gov Rick Perry called Puerto Rico a Country.....geezus, we let any dumbfk run for Prez, there s/b a test prior to be able to be a legit candidate. If so we'd never have this dumbass for potus...

this quote of Boyer's, is quit moving-

"To deploy overseas, train, live with, fight alongside, and ultimately defend foreigners that you have little in common with is truly a challenging task. But returning home to a country that is so divided, so judgmental, and so hateful of one another is almost as difficult to deal with as burying a fallen comrade."

Ya' know all the NFL has to do, is go back to prior days when Player's stayed in the tunnels or clubhouse during the Natl Anthem....

I believe the funds given the NFL by the DOD for flag ceremonies, has expired...

...yeah, I've always felt that standing during the anthem was the way to go, and though the NFL players who are also citizens and have the right to express themselves, they are also not exempt from the opinions of others who disagree with them...I just don't think using the national anthem as an avenue to protest is the right way to go.

...personally, I think politics should be kept out of sports.

^^^Never said traveling to another planet was impossible...my point is that it becomes moot if the Earth is reduced to a lifeless cinder after all the "WW III" nukes are launched.

no doubt, and yeah it kind of surprises me, due to the budget cuts over decades with NASA, tho' Musk has his vision, and no doubt in time it will happen. I'd hate to see Nukes launched, yet I don't trust either the NORKS or Iran.

I'm kind of surprised this nation hasn't found a way to neutralize the lil' dick, his dad and grandad, over all these years. I think there's been more than discussions with China, or so I hope...
One would hope China could neutralize the regime, tho' a madman can't be bartered with....

...I actually think that Musk or some other individual or private company has a better chance of interplanetary colonization than our bureaucratic government.

    ^^^^....
with all the bs govt's in-ability to fund massive programs let alone agree upon anything period; and the pitiful lack and loss of capital due to fraud, waste in such program's over decades; the dollar figures are beyond belief. That is, programs funded that never come to fruition, then put off and on again, funding ghosts of programs.... since latter 70's- eg, "The Orient Express", and/or "Star Wars" shield programs, .... tho' some headways have been made, nothing near as originally proposed and planned; more importantly appropriated, paid for, with no finished products on time, not even close...

what did come out of the OE and SW's, came 2-3 decades after such programs were paid for time and time again, what we should of had in space in the year 2012, died on a engineers drawing board(s) in the latter 80's....again paid for with duplicated program re-starts, changing major sub=contractors over and over decades.... The tech learned from such, wouldn't come to any form of fruition physically until lately with an unmanned recovery mini-space shuttle. With a few methods of shielding America, also decades after their initial ECD...

So yeah, a private entrenpeneur stands to go beyond, faster and further than our screwed up broken systemic failures in govt, and NASA....

Obviously this administration will likely punt on NASA as a priority unless someone explains that the tallest structures on the Moon and Mars could be designed and built on his watch.

All the private sector work is encouraging, but to my mind most ventures are approaching space as a bucket list tourism scam. There are no signs that this sector is in it for the long haul where profits are reinvested to drive technology forward. This is where govt sponsored activities coupled to strategic interests have thrived for us, Russia, china and the EU to a smaller extent.

For the private sector to be viable there needs to be plans for the democratization of space (i.e., affordable for most), and NASA needs to set standards. NASA should be working to be the ANSI for all things above 100km.

1- LMAO, a reference to the businessman developer potus??? Trump Bio-Dome on the Moon....hehehe

2- good point Tote, I just read an article with Musk on his approach, much like a Realtor's. "We're targeting homeowners, who would pay 200K for a house, can go to Mars for as much". Imo, Musk is vastly under estimating the rolling up of future increases in costs, big time.....

3- Tote, do you mean NASA should fall under ANSI? I'd have no probs with that.
NASA Programs tho' do work under ANSI requirements, specifications, for engineering only.... at least when I worked, tho' the Contractors have taken an ISO approach to business, not sure what the future holds in these different methods of approach....

doesn't make sense does it? Engr to ANSI, drum up business with ISO, then build to ANSI.

I mean you can have a half dozen outfits right now vying for orbital ops. Would be key to have them all using std and compatible comms, docking systems, critical components (life support, batteries, co2 filters, etc) so there is some type of cross platform uniformity for safety purposes.

    indeed.

The big question or dose of future reality, is: how long before this goes from an ANSI to a global ISO environment. Indeed all 'outfits' s/b working to ANSI, but how long before funds fall short, even from private sectors. How long before some politician sells us on: "we won't get there without intl., support". Then the entire concept becomes as tainted as the world of intl turmoil left behind. Or do nations find true peace in space endeavours; like grown men find peace in their dogs world...Can doggism find a way into mankinds learning how to bridge differences. cuz there's always some who eat dogs, instead of turn 'em into mans best friend...

where the fk did that come from. I went' off on a tangent, whats new eh??....gotta' be the drugs, booze, jp4 fumes - "geez I picked a great day to stop doing" ________x

...^^^ wow, just wow...gotta love the internet. (copy and paste without verifying)

..."certified not to be fake"?...really?...by whom ?

... without trying to refute the entire list, some of those claims may be true but others are either false, misleading, inaccurate, or very disputable. And some "accomplishments" on this cherry-picked propaganda list are in spite of Trump, not because of him.

...sorry, I award you no points.
