TSN to lose the NHL...

    Heard on the way to work this morning (NHL radio) that its going to be announced today that TSN will no longer have TV rights to broadcast the NHL in Canada after this season. WOW. Looks like they were outbid by CBC and Rogers/Sportsnet, 12 year deal too. No numbers on the dollars were revealed though...

    Ouch for TSN, not sure what they would possibly fill up all that airtime with.....

    5.2B (yes Billion) over 12 years. I think TSN was paying something like 400M over ten years. So from 40M/year to 433M/year. WOW.

    Should have good impact on the salary cap for next year, as I'd guess some or most of that counts towards HRR...

    great news! how could it not affect the salary cap....total revenue just jumped 983%
