Turkoglu

?

Should the Raptors trade Turkoglu?

  1. Yes. Turkoglu was only good because he was in Orlando's system.

  2. Keep him. He will come around.

I wan't to know the thoughts of Raptor fans on Turkoglu. Keep him, and he will get into form...sometime... Or trade him now! Maybe back to where he came from. I'd take Vince back anyday even though I don't agree with the way he left (I don't agree with how Turkoglu showed up! Or didn't...). I didn't blame him for wanting to leave.

Never should've signed him, would trade him for a bag of pucks. Strangely Raptors fans were almost unanimously cautious if not angry about the signing when it happened, too.

    We're paying him $53-million, Marion's getting $39-million from Dallas...

    Marion: 32 mins, .499 shooting, 12pts, 6.4reb, .9stl, 1.0blk, 1.1tov
    Turkoglu: 33 mins, .411 shooting, 13pts, 4.5reb, 4.5ast, .6stl, .4blk, 1.9tov

Why are we paying $14-million more for someone with similar production to a guy we already had and gave up assets to acquire? Because he's European?

I'd trade him but it only depends on the other parts.

yeah, turk has been a disaster but his contract, especially the years left on it make him virtually untradeable. the only trade scenario i can envision is us taking back vince or andre miller if we want to trade him straight up. of course, in a vince trade we need to add fillers like a banks or amir.

I didn't vote. You left off the obvious choice:

Keep him. With that contract we have no chance in hell of trading him for 4 more years when he will finally have trade value as an expiring contact.

how is vince even getting thrown into this possible turk trade ideas???
its been 5 years, of all the ideas we can come up for possible trades why,,,why vince?
i would chose neither of them, but ill stick with turk, give me mcgrady over vince, no reason to mention vince in a raptors forum, its been way too long for him to still be brought up

Nope they already have two guys who can play defense (Ariza and Battier) that can play small forward. Why would they want one who can't?

let me explain something to u- the nba has implemented a soft cap and many franchises, the raps included have vowed not to exceed the cap unless it was a move to put them over the top. why is vince's mentioned? cause he's the lesser of two evils , hedo being the bigger evil. hedo still has 4 more years left on his contract after this year and ive already given up on him after the first 40 games so im almost certain its going to get worse. also, by virtue of us being a team restricted by the cap- hedo is accounting for a big chunk of the cap and he's giving us nothing back so to be a contender from here on out- colangelo need's to bat 1000 from today onwards and i dont entrust him with that much responsibility.

Yep. I said the exact same thing at the time of the signing. Hedo isn't good enough to put the Raptors into contention and his contract will be a huge obstacle to bringing in additional talent. Best case, in the 5th year of his contract. He suddenly gains trade value as a big expiring contract. Too bad that don't happen until the 2013-14 season. In the meantime, you're stuck with four years of overpaid suckage.

The way he played the other night, there are times that paying Carlos Delfino this money may have been more worth it. I know i am exaggerating quite a bit but oh well

Even when his shot isn't falling, Delfino brings energy and defesne - two things the Raptors sorely lack.

I never did get the Delfino to Milwaukie trade. Seems like exactly the kind of guy you need. I seem to recall something about Delfino refusing to come back to the Raptors. Something like they were one of two NBA teams he absolutely would NOT play for. Do you know anything about that?

delfino desperately wanted to come back to the raps but the raps ran out of room under the luxury tax with the hedo and jack signing. in fact, the most moronic part of the hedo acquisition for me is that colangelo actually was prepared to renounce all of our free agents and that was the plan before an accountant in mlse named steve fruitman engineered the S&T for hedo. so colangelo was actually prepared to take on hedo with no jack, antoine wright, amir johnson, beli, sonny weems, AP or delfino.

So, there was absolutely no truth to this post that was made at the time of the trade?

Not saying there is, just asking.

misinformed poster, in fact, delfino contacted the raps in the middle of last season in the hopes of coming back during the season.
