The Yankees didn't make it any easier for the Twins to re-sign Nathan when they offered Mariano Rivera a three-year contract calling for $45 million. The Twins recently exercised a $6 million option on Nathan for next year.

Like the article said, I can't see why Johan would accept this deal. Zito can get $100 million plus, certainly the best picther in baseball over the last three years can get that.

Exactly. Plus, even if he did get offered a larger deal, he's expressed his displeasure with the Twins inability to keep players because of their money issues.

What do you guys think Santana is worth over five years? I believe it's somewhere in the 150 to 175 million range.
