as I'm outta here for lunch...

    1) I like our position in the polls. We're the top one loss team and will only go up as others lose above us.

    2) This is NOT sour grapes, but LSU doesn't really impress me all that much. I bet they end up with 3 losses.

I wasn't really impressed either. I think if it hadn't been the first game of the season and if James/Barner hadn't gotten hurt, we wouldn't have seen the two fumbles by DAT and I think we would have been right there with a chance to win at the end.

    1. Have a nice lunch. Stay away from the salad.

    2. Agreed on our position. Oregon DOES get respect.

    3. LSU has played one top 25 and one top 5 team. They have 12 TD's on the season with a 345 ypg average, while only allowing 3 TD's, and nearly under 200 ypg - and that includes playing the top offense from last season.

LSU is legit. I think the Bama game is a tossup (again, avoid the salad) but LSU has a legit opp to end the season in New Orleans and at very least, a BCS Bowl.

LSU's defense turned me into a believer. I dont believe they are miles better overall than Oregon but that Defense will keep them in a LOT of games.

2001...An Oregon Duck team with a Gang Green defense and a solid offense that concentrated on TIME OF POSSESSION and having the ball for the last possession. They weren't overly athletic....just good size, skill, discipline, experience and confidence....somewhat similar to one 2011 LSU team.

That Oregon team went on to one of the best seasons in Oregon history with a BCS bowl demolition of a good CO team, 38-16. Had it not been for ONE LOSS on my friggen wedding day(!) Oregon would have beat Miami (easily) to win the NC.

    LSU is for reals.

LSU is the real deal. NFL caliber defensive line and they always have a great secondary. They're going to be tough.

wait Oregon beating Miami Easily? that Miami team was STACKED. Dorsey, Portis, Shockey, Andre Johnson, Bryant McKinnie, DJ Williams, Vilma, Buchanon, Ed Reed And that was just some of the starters.

They even had players like Willis McGahee, Frank Gore, Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow, Antrel Rolle.

17 total members of that team were drafted in the 1st round of the NFL draft over the years.

(yes I basically plagiarized a wiki article lol)

I don't doubt their talent, but teams can move the ball on them.

They struggled (yes, the won - but close wins) against Pitt, Boston College and VA-Tech that year. I think Oregon would have done a number on 'em. Really do!

Yeah.... I think we would have put up a better fight than Nebraska... but that Miami team was insane. So many NFL players on that roster. I'm not saying we couldn't beat them, but it sure wouldn't have been easy.
