<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SEATTLE -- The perception of where the Minnesota Timberwolves are headed this season ranges from serious competitors to win the Western Conference to a combustible clan of temperamental talents that could go nowhere. Then again, there's Kevin Garnett -- perhaps the most unique and versatile player in the game today and maybe ever -- and his silent partner vowing to carry on. "We're diverse in personality ... that's true," Garnett said. "But everything we do as an organization is built around team. We're all about family here and we carry that with us everywhere we go." </div> http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/story/6969243 A great read of how the Wolves seem to gel very well. I am really loving the aquisition of Sam Cassell. I only wish he came ealier. Sam is really emerging as my 2nd favorite player as he meshes PERFECTLY with Garnett.
Just think if we got Cassell instead of Brandon in that three team trade that sent Marbury to New Jersey. We would be years ahead of our time, and I believe that we would have went past the first round by now. But oh well, as long as we do it this year.
i wish we still had marbury b/c look at what he has done in PHX now, and they could be better if they werent so old haha. With Marbury skills he has developed after being in NJ and PHX, he would gel great with garnett. Im not a marbury fanboy, but he would fit great in another twolves jersey. Looks like Oliver took his number tho.

But I always have a simple comment to those remarks. And it is this, Marbury & Garnett would would have never worked, the longer they played together the worse their chemistry would have gotten. Marbury would have never played second fittle to KG. Marbury is not the type of player that will sacafice his role or his stats to help a team win. He didnt do in Jersey, isnt doing it with the Suns. If my memory serves me correctly half of the reason why Marbury left was because he had became upset that KG was given a max contract & he wasnt. So all these Marbury/KG dreams that you people have are just that dreams. The reality is yes Marbury is probably the second best point guard talent wise in the NBA. but reality also is that he isnt a winner, & doesnt know how to win. The reality also is that he his stats are somewhat inflated because he has played on teams where he is the first option, so he can throw up 20 plus shots per game while shooting a poor % without being questioned. Would this realisticly happen on a playoff contender without the team suffering. The T-wolve reality, is they have a top 5 point guard in the NBA, who is willing to play a second fittle roll to KG. And never cry about it. I todays sports world, where a guy catches one touchdown & wants all the Media attention in the world. You guys have Sam who is averaging 20pts per game & 7.5ast & shooting a %, that Marbury will never see in his life. Yet he never cries about not being on sports center or not getting as much attention as even sprewell(who he has played more consistent then). All he does is just go out & drop 20ppg & basicly out play any point guard you put in front of him. So yeah Steph might do somethings better than Sam but Sam also does alot of things better than Steph. And he is a much better fit for KG's Stardom(who really started to develope into a dominate player after Marbury left ). People need to let the Steph dreams go & love the Sam reality.

Sam has some good years left in him and is CLEARLY satisfied and loves playing along one of the best talents in the L. Marbury, as Henacy said, couldnt handle being 2nd best. Oh yes, Marbury cant come back because Oliver Miller has his number. That is the reason.

These were my favorite segments of the article. "Sam and I, what people fail to realize, is that we really like each other and have a history of that friendship," said Sprewell, who came in a three-way deal from the Knicks. "We're unselfish because we want to win and it all starts around Kevin and we know it. That's the main thing -- this whole thing works around the big guy, and it's up to us to make it work." and "Hey now," Cassell said, breaking into a laugh. "If we had Kevin Garnett on that team, we would have won, too. But I'm just happy to be here on this team. Latrell and me are still learning each other, but the way this team works fits us just right. We both like to push the ball and play better, and with K.G., all of that will happen As I've said before, they're a good team and my favorite because they work well together and this is because they're buddies. They try to make the game for each other, they don't care about stats, they care about bringing them, their team and their friends and teammates the win. They know the chemistry behind smart bball and so they carried it out and it works. So with that said they'll continue this great form of play. Once Olokowandi and Hudson are back, more boards will be pouring in. Also with Wally, more offense. "The best thing about him is he understands how to play the game," Garnett said. "It's not necessarily one or two things. Obviously, he grasped our system fast. He loves to pass. He's one of the best passing big men I've ever seen, and he understands his role." Saying that about Oliver Miller is really nice, they're such a warm, genuine, tight, honest and humble group of individuals. They're gonna get far and well if they don't they're gonna enjoy the ride.
wait wait here guys. I never said i wasnt loving having sammy c here in minny. dont get my wrong! i love sammy just as much as the next guy but i was just saying how it would be cool to have marbury back. YES, sam is showing his worthy-ness to us, but i mean it would be cool to have stephon back b/c he has grown so much after going to PHX and he could be great as a timberwolf. I believe, (due to who was traded for who) that we could have both? i might be wrong then again but im pretty sure that we should have both. That would certainly complete out the 5th slot that is continuosly changing in our line-up for now until wally and troy get back. but hey, this is all just a fantasy.

well, looks like marbs is moving anyway, but not exactly here. which is fine, cassell is definately proving himself time and time again.

See how close they are.
ah~! you have selective reading lol. I am from MN, as u know sosa. I am just as big of a twolves fan as anybody else and im just trying to help my team. i dont think we need post after post after post of you trying to justify to me why you think sammy c is better than marbury. i dont want to start a big arguement here, but cmon...why would i be posting in a twolves topic, with a twolves sig and a twolves orientated brain? cmon man, why cant you just let me have my views and still give respect?

I read your arguements... all you posted is a bunch of wishes... Hencay pretty much said it all in his post above. Im not starting a arguement... I am just have intellegent discussion... if we all agreed... there would be no point of this message board. P friggin S... if you want some respect, show us some knowledge... you havnt said much since youve posted here. Yea you can make wallpapers of NBA players... but do you even watch or understand the game?
