<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The scene at Target Center on Wednesday night resembled the days of coaches Bill Musselman, Jimmy Rodgers and Bill Blair, when some visiting teams completely embarrassed the Wolves when they were in the building stage. The Suns, working on a 35-10 run in the second half, completely dominated the Wolves in a 108-79 loss that could have been a lot worse had Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni not played his deep reserves in the fourth quarter. Kevin McHale, Wolves vice president of basketball operations, couldn't believe his eyes as his team was dominated at home like it hasn't been for years. "We're playing badly," McHale said. "Actually, we have been playing badly all year. We'd like to make a deal but it's not easy." After the game, Wolves coach Flip Saunders minced no words as he talked about what an embarrassing performance this was. A year ago the team lost only 24 games and won 58. This season, they already have lost 22 and the season has 36 games left to play. The consensus of one NBA expert was that the trade that brought veterans Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell to the team last season was a one-year fix. Both Cassell, 35, and Sprewell, 34, have struggled this year. Cassell, who just returned to the lineup after being out because of a sprained hamstring, injured his shoulder Wednesday night and might be out for another long period. The Wolves are 8-8 since Mark Madsen, a big energy guy, broke his thumb. He won't be back until after the All-Star break. Their downfall seemed to start when they lost 99-88 to the Bulls on Dec. 11. They are 11-16 since that loss at Chicago.</div> Source
