<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A little birdie says that before the Dallas Mavericks released guard Michael Finley on Monday night, they telephoned the Timberwolves, trying to trade him for guard Wally Szczerbiak. The Wolves immediately said no thanks. Meanwhile, the Wolves always have liked the 6-foot-7 Finley and are interested in signing him as a free agent. But he is expected to receive a better offer from the Phoenix Suns than the $1.5 million or so the Wolves could offer. If Finley, 32, wants to play in Minnesota, though, the Wolves would welcome him ? at their price. The Wolves were to try to persuade him to sign again Tuesday.</div> Source Not sure how TWolve fans feel about this, but I would have taken this deal to unload Wally. His salary is an eyesore, and with the addition of Jaric and Skeeta, the TWolves have enough firepower from the perimeter. They also get Finley's offense to replace Sprewell, and free up cap space flexibility after two years. Trading Wally, also creates more opportunities for Ebi to develop.
