I only caught the second half, but man was it great to see. KG did his thing, Mike James looked solid and very passhappy. Davis looked solid and Hassell played great defense while making ALL his open jumpers as usual. Blount sucked as expected but Craig Smith provided a nice boost. I'm assuming Foye didn't even play. I'll check the boxscore later, but Jaric looked nice on the wing for a change. And the favorite part of the night for me?????

T-hud is back!!!!!!! He showed us what we al forgot he was like when healthy. He lit it up like he always used to. I am so excited for the season to get going. Our defensive rebounding was so horrid that if we can still beat the Kings by 10, I don't think anyone is unbeatable for us on any night.

What were your thoughts on the game? Any suprises about Foye not playing? Lots of techs (at least in the second half) any thoughts on that?

[IMG] Hassell with 60% shooting, nice. The kid brought it both defensively and offensively. Ricky Davis looked really unselfish tonight as well with 7 assists and good ball movement. KG was killing them softly looking like a MVP with 24 pts, 12 rbs, 3 blks, and 3 assists. Greatest part? He hit ALL of his free throws. KG is such a beast man. Is there anything he can't do?

What really killed the Kings though was their shooting, Ron Artest in particular.

Mike James didn't seem to have a good game at all.

I didnt get to see the game but my cousin watched and said that for much of the game there werent that many plays called for KG until the end of the game. I dont know if this is in an effort to try to only really rely on KG in the fourth quarter since so many of the games we lost last year were because of blown leads late in the game. Who knows, its only the first game. But it does seem encouraging that we beat a good team without guys like James or Smith playing real well and Foye only seeing limited action (though hopefully they increase his role as he gets more comfortable). My cous also said that griffin looks good and that while Blount didnt play great, he showed more effort and willingness to defend, rebound and score inside than is normally seen out of him. My cousin also believes that U of Minn is the best basketball team in the Big-10 so if any of this is pure crap than I apologize.

The best part about the win was that Garnett decided it's HIM who has to take over at the end of games. He came up big at the end.

What about Kenyon Martin complaining about a foul in which he practically sat on Garnett's head? What a joke!

Oops I'm talking bout the Denver game. My bad
