<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Shaquille O'Neal made an interesting statement over the weekend, announcing that he expects to start in the All-Star Game despite missing most of the first half of the season."I will not be moved or bothered by what people in the media say or the critics say or by what that organization says," O'Neal commented to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel about the likelihood of being voted in as the Eastern Conference's starting center ahead of 21-year-old Orlando phenom Dwight Howard. "We all have to wait our turn. He has to wait his turn. I had to wait my turn."</div>I think he should let Dwight Howard start, give the kid a break. Shaq has only played 4 games the entire season while Howard has started in every single game of the year. Shaq has participated in 13 all star games and this would be Howards first. The kid deserves it, he has been busting his ass all season while Shaq has been on the sidelines with an injury.

well, Howards not a kid to you BALLA.....lol j/kYa im sortve torn on this though. This very well may be Shaqs last season, hence last allstar game. Mostly when a top 20 player is about to retire, he usually gets the start. Anyways, its the fan voting, its a fan game so let him play for the fans. Although, ill rather see DH12 start over Shaq myself.

Howard will make it as the backup Center either way...I know that I voted for him to start. Shaq played 4 games out of a possible.... what, 40?. Why the hell does he think he deserves to start in the ASG?

Shaq [IMG] I want the East to win, let Dwight, Bosh, even Big Ben Wallace start over him. He's the most selfish 300+ pounder in the NBA...

Jesus f*cking christ. He has to learn how to know that he is done, fat, and old. Let the Dwight start he had like 3+ 20/20 games and hes 21. Shaq should be benched

How the hell is he supposed to start at Center?

As long as both make it (which will happen) I could care less who starts.

I'm a heat fan and even I have voted for Dwight Howard about 20 times because I think he's deserves it over shaq especially since shaq has only played like 4 games.

Same thing happened with T-Mac last year. This proves that most of the all star voters have never watched a game in their life, think Shaq deserves it in all of the 4 games he played, or just retarded.

I haven't voted for Shaq even once. I only voted for Dwight Howard, because to me I think he deserves it more than once. Shaq can't make it to the all star game each year and he needs to understand that as a player. It's time for other people to shine, not just oldies

Shaq, just likes to live up the attention. He isnt making a big deal about it. He just said the wrong thing to the wrong dude and it got out to the newspaper to cause drama. Im sure if shaq was asked by a caoch or anything it will come down to Dwight starting, becuase well Dwight is amazing.

truth is that the non-fans are the ones who vote for shaq. I think that you should only be able to vote at the games, if we are to keep fan voting. If voting only occurred at the games it would mean something

    Re: Typical Shaquille O'Neal

Who really cares if Shaq starts? I doubt he'll be playing all that much anyway, and Dwight will get most of the minutes either way.And there is no chance in hell the NBA will get rid of fan-voting for the ASG. It is basically the only way the fans can actually be involved with the game. We all know that the majority of fans will vote for their favorite players regardless of who actually deserves the starting spot, and we all know that there are those people out there that have never watched a basketball game from beginning to end, yet just vote for the big name stars because those are the only players they know...As long as the coaches vote on the reserves, I really don't care who the fans choose because the players that deserve to be on the team will get voted on by the coaches, if not the fans. There are always going to be All-Star snubs, but that's just a part of life.

Shaq's time is over. He needs to move over and let Dwight take over as the best Center in the east.

    Re: Typical Shaquille O'Neal

This is just Shaq's personality. He thinks differently than alot of people do. Sometimes I think that the man is funny, but sometimes he can be an ***hole. And even if Shaq had played in all 40 games this year, I dont think he would be having as good as a season as Howard has been having. And the thing is, he has only played in four games. A player like Howard shouldnt have to wait if he is having a good season like this, especially when Shaq hasnt been playing.

    Re: Typical Shaquille O'Neal

I kinda agree with Shaq, the young ones have to wait their turn. Of course since Shaq has only played four games, he won't be near the condition to play a full Allstar Game, Howard will most likely get good minutes regardless. It's like when Yao kept starting over Shaq. Shaq would end up playing most of the game anyway.

I just think it is dumb that Shaq gets to start even though he has only played 4 games. Why the f*ck does he think he deserves to start? Of course, thats just Shaq being Shaq when he made that remark.

I remember a few years back when VC was still in Toronto, he had played in maybe one game all year, if even that, and still started the ASG and then was mysteriously injured after that because he didn't play for Toronto directly after the break.
