The win gave the Americans their 13th basketball gold at the games since 1965, and their first title since 1999. The U.S. women won the gold Friday. "We take the responsibility of representing United States basketball very seriously," U.S. coach Jay Wright said. "You realize the enormity of who you are representing -- the best players in the world, the best coaches in the world -- and you just want to do it justice." Duke's Shelden Williams added 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Americans. "Hopefully at the end of my senior year things will work out," Williams said of the NBA. Good to see Foye and Smith contributing even before the NCAA season begins. Those two, along with their respective sidekicks Allan Ray and Jared Dudley, are my favorite players in all of basketball. Well.. maybe besides Manu.
