UCLA - a terrible road team

UCLA has been outscored 231-98 in their road games. The only win was one single road game out of six - back in Sept at Oregon State. They failed to score a single TD in Nov while on the road (8 total quarters).

I'll be Manhattan for three nights w/ the fam and will represent somewhere, somehow on Dec 2!

    Go Ducks!

This pac 12 game is going to be so ridiculous. I hate the system that lets a .500 team trot into Autzen to "challenge" our title. I want some real competition. To me, it makes no sense to split the conference into two divisions. Just let the two top teams play.

I imagine this is designed to allow more teams to complete for a title spot, and trump up more ticket sales etc, but then you risk having a total dud of a title game. Though I suppose the ratings shouldn't suffer too much, seeing as how a huge california market would be intersted....(for the first quarter anyway)

You have a good idea. I'd go with the two top teams going to the Conf Champ. This is the first year and it's a bit askew given USC's ban - so hopefully it all settles in the coming years.

Yeah I like the system the way it is. Its only screwy this one year because of the USC ban, they will be eligible next year. If you only took the top two teams you could have a situation where teams are punished by having other strong opponents in their division. They would be handing each other losses, while a weaker team on the other side only losses to one tough opponent but beats a bunch of cupcakes and sneaks into the title game.

What happens when Oregon gets their two-year bowl ban, as tlong and many UW fans claim to be the case, yet still win the Pac-North and go 11-1?

Will a 7-5 UW team make people want to go see them play USC in LA on a Friday night? :)

Well, you're giving reasons to NOT have not have divisons. The balance of power can be skewed. In that case, the 2nd place team in the stronger divison can get screwed. They may have a better record against better opponants and they don't even get a chance to compete for the title.

    Divisons are dumb.
