UConn Game 29: Take Down the Hall.

    UConn 89 Seton Hall 67

Calhoun had said for a week now, “Emeka, we might not see his kind again”. Calhoun, not known for poetic quotes, did not connect with me. Until I started, writing. I thought, “Wow, he’s really gone.” No more quick drives to the HCC to watch, or dinner in Mansfield. Oak finished sweet, with 16 boards and 25 points & 3 of the Huskies 12 blocks. With Josh Boone and Charlie Villanueva, UConn dominates inside. Charlie had 3 blocks, 7 points and 4 boards. Josh got into foul trouble. Josh only played 13, with 4 points, 4 rebounds and 4 blocks. Charlie V & Denim Brown each played 30, Denim played uninspired basketball. He hustles, but the results are not there.

Ben had a night. Probably his last in Storrs, as well. Along with 23 points, Ben had 4 steals & 4 assists. Taliek Brown concluded his time, at a home UConn game, with 7 points, 6 assists, a steal and 3 boards. Rashad Anderson put in 15. Can not say he is okay with starting. Hilton Armstrong played well with limted minutes, as did Shamon Tooles.

The Huskies looked good tonight. If they can take down the Orange at the Dome, the Huskies will be in great shape. Jim Calhoun always seems to get them ready for the Dance. This could get good. Real good. 24-5 with Syracuse before the Big East tourney at the Garden.
