HARTFORD, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Connecticut guards Jerome Dyson and Doug Wiggins have been suspended from the team indefinitely by coach Jim Calhoun and did not join the Huskies for their trip to Indiana, according to a report on the Hartford Courant's web site.

UConn plays the seventh-ranked Hoosiers on Saturday.

"It obviously isn't something that is making me particularly happy," Calhoun told the newspaper shortly after arriving at the team hotel Friday. "This particular suspension is mine, no one else's. I took the action based upon what I felt was in the best interest of our basketball team and the university."

Calhoun called the players' actions a violation of team rules and said neither was arrested. The suspension has nothing to do with grades, according to the Courant.

Both players are sophomores. Dyson had started every game and is averaging 14.3 points, second on the team. Wiggins, the Huskies' main reserve, is averaging 6.6 points.

    Both players practiced Friday.

"I made a decision based upon something that happened, but it's very difficult to say for a kid who was suspended for over a month this year that it doesn't fall under a pattern," Calhoun told the Courant, referring to Wiggins' banishment from the locker room in the preseason.

Calhoun seemed to indicate he was awaiting more information regarding the transgressions before deciding how long the suspension will last, according to the report.

I can't stand Dyson. And I don't know how the f*** UConn won today's game. You don't know how pissed I am at Indiana.

First and foremost, you have to think about the conference. No mater how much you may hate UConn, as a Cuse fan, you need and want them to win those OOC games.

Why does it matter? The guys who pick teams for the tournament underrate the Big East. Hell, everyone does.
