Sam Stout has withdrawn from this fight, possibly due to the death of his trainer Shawn Tompkins.

Donald "Not a Single Fuck was Given" Cerrone in for Sammy Stout vs. Denis Siver.

Cerrone doesn't have to have his fights booked, he just jumps in when he feels like it.

    Great fight.

Re: UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz (Oct. 29th)

I will die before not being able to watch this fight card. This one has me so intriguied, I just can't wait to watch and see what happens.

Nick Diaz is aggressive in all stages of fighting, and I don't see him backing down. GSP is just a beast in all stages of fighting, and I think is better at just about everything than Nick Diaz. Will be very interested to see how this fight goes down. One thing is for sure, I'm still always interested in St. Pierres fights, but if he manages to make this one boring, against one of the least boring fighters on the planet it won't be pretty.

Carlos Condit has been on my favorites list, right there with Rich Franklin, since I seen his fight against Miura at WEC 35. Since then he has just never failed to live up to the expectations of always putting it on the line. His come from behind win over McDonald proves that he has that Samurai spirit, and I love watching him fight. I can't wait to see him against BJ Penn who may be the most skilled fighter Condit has ever faced. One thing is for sure, Penn won't back down, and Condit won't either. This fight should deliver the excitement.

Kongo and Mittrione will be a monster matchup, between two big, strong hard hitting heavyweights. Kongo proved he can take a punch in the fight against Pat Barry, Mittrione can take a punch, but he has never been hit by someone with Kongos striking power. Plus Meathead has had a lot more athleticism than most other guys he has faced, not so much the case against Kongo. So this will be interesting to see, I'm thinking someone is getting knocked out in the 1st or 2nd round.

Siver never puts on boring fights, Cerrone out right refuses to put on boring fights. Both like to stand and bang, this should be a barn burner, and strong fight of the night contender.

And then Nelson against Cro Crop, which is a chance for Nelson to really get back on the winning horse, or suffer a sure fire cut. If he doesn't win this, then I don't see where he really needs to stick around in the heavyweight division. I think Nelson can strike well enough to get in close and put Cro Crop on his back. I don't know if he can Submit Cro Crop, because in 45 fights Cro Crop has only ever been submitted twice, and one of those was because of his eye injury against JDS. I do believe Nelson can take him down for 3 rounds though, and beat him up.

Re: UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz (Oct. 29th)

You think St. Pierre has better stand up and BJJ than Diaz? I'd give Diaz the edge in both but especially stand up. St. Pierre just isn't much of a threat standing IMO. Hes got good technique and will outstrike guys but IMO if he stands with Diaz hes going to lose easily. Diaz is coming off wins where he stood with Daley, Cyborg, and Noons and came out on top.

Diaz has shown little ability to defend takedowns though and I doubt GSP slips up and lets Diaz land a sub on him. I expect a GSP lay and pray fest but I'm rooting for Diaz to KO or sub him.

Nick's inability to stop the TD will be his downfall. I agree Nick has the advantage in BJJ and on the feet.

I wonder if Diaz was there when Sonnen trained with the Gracie team to prepare Shields for GSP. Or if they're bringing him back to prep Diaz this time around. Still, hard to see him shoring up the TDD in one camp going into a fight against GSP.

Re: UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz (Oct. 29th)

Nick's advantage is in boxing but not striking overall. He doesn't kick much and his kick defense is also poor. I can see Georges landing a lot of leg kicks in the fight. GSP should be stronger in the clinch.

His BJJ is good but he doesn't want to be on his back vs. GSP. Georges' top game is dominant. GSP wasn't threatened by Penn or Shields who are more accomplished grapplers than Diaz.

It will be a typical GSP fight. He'll keep Nick at range, use mixed strikes, and shoot when Diaz tries to get anything going. He'll throw elbows and punches from the top and posture up and get out when Nick threatens with submissions.

Re: UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz (Oct. 29th)

Like Speeds said, I believe he is the better striker, because he is a much more diverse striker. He has crisp clean combinations, a good stiff jab, has amazing kicks, and his raw athleticism just adds that much more to what he can do on his feet. When the fight was standing, GSP soundly out struck Thiago Alves, who is the equal of Noons, Daley or Cyborg on his feet.

As far as BJJ goes, it's obvious that Nick Diaz probably has the better submissions off his back, but again like Speeds said GSPs top game jiu jitsu is great. His submission defense from the top might be among the best in the sport, and I think all around because of his takedown ability and top game he is the better on the floor as well.

Re: UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz (Oct. 29th)

All that being said I think it will be the most exciting fight we've seen GSP involved in since Fitch. Diaz has the right attitude. Something like Sonnen did with Silva in that he will go after GSP, not just be content to hang around like Hardy, Koscheck and Shields were.

Agreed, the Diaz brothers are tough as nails and have a never quit attitude, and Nick is very talented. I would expect to see him go all out for all 5 rounds and really push GSP into a fight. I'm excited for it.

Apparently he may have had visa issues that kept him out of Canada.

Diaz will be at the "official" press conference in Vegas.

Re: UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Condit (Oct. 29th)

WAR Condit. He along with Rich Franklin are my absolute favorites, and I am 100% happy he is going to get this oppurtunity. Like Nick, Condit loves to push the pace and fight his ass off, and will go all out to push this fight and make it interesting. Not only that, but after the McDonald fight we know Condit can take a beating and keep on coming back. So I'm excited as hell for him to get this oppurtunity.

That said, no way in hell do I see him actually winning this fight.

Re: UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Condit (Oct. 29th)

Fitch's camp have asked to step in for Condit to rematch Penn, which I think is pretty much a given at this point.
