The UFC has re-signed middleweight Frank Trigg. http://mmajunkie.com/news/15005/vet...turning-to-the-ufc-signs-multi-fight-deal.mma
So yeah, Frank Trigg. That must be the "blow you away" middleweight Dana was talking about. The guy who lost 3/5 fights he had in the UFC, with wins over luminaries Renato Verissimo and Dennis Hallman. I'm not sure where he fits into the UFC's (stacked) middleweight division. Would you pick him against any of the following: Silva, Silva, Kang, Akiyama, Marquardt, Maia, Bisping, Belcher, Cote, Leites, Gouveia, Grove, Sonnen, Reljic, Okami, Palhares, or Almeida? Trigg has to be better than eight of those guys to crack the top ten of the division. That's not including Henderson or Franklin.
The rumour is that Trigg was promised another crack at Hughes as part of his contract, much like Cro Cop was promised Big Nog.
umm I like Trigg and all, but at 37, this equals 'whooty damn doo' to me as far as making a difference in the division. He's not the most exciting fighter in the world either.
so he'll give Hughes one last hurrah and provide tune up fights for guys trying to get a crack at the top 5 WW's?
