UFC vet Thiago Silva in custody after armed stand-off with police

    Thiago Silva just got himself in a load of trouble.

    According to sources close to BJPENN.COM, we have learned that upon hearing of his wives possible infidelities with her Jiu Jitsu coach, Pablo Popovich, the top UFC light-heavyweight barged into their school gun-drawn, looking for Pablo.

    He then left the scene to barricade himself inside his home while the Broward Sheriff department SWAT team placed a perimeter outside the home.
    This all went down tonight, just a few hours ago.

    Wow, what in the hell? Wish someone could talk some sense into him but at this point hes looking at going away for a loooong time. Hope he doesn't hurt anyone.

    A local NBC affiliate in South Florida shot video of UFC light heavyweight Thiago Silva being taken into custody at a Broward Sheriff's Office main jail after an alleged incident Thursday night at the Pablo Popovitch Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and a subsequent standoff with police at his home.

    Silva faces multiple charges, including two counts of commit/attempt specified felony could cause death, aggravated battery with deadly weapon, and resisting officer-obstruct without violence.

    In response to why he allegedly pulled a gun on his wife, Thaysa, Silva said, "She want my money. She want my house."

    Silva's wife has yet to speak publicly, and Silva's manager, Glenn Robinson of Authentic Sports Management, declined to comment on the situation at this time. No injuries have been reported.

    According to the sheriff's office, Silva is being charged with:

    1. Attempted murder (782.051-1)
    2. Attempted murder (782.051-1), again
    3. Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (784.045-1a2)
    4. Resisting arrest/obstruction non-violent (843.02)

    Wowza.

    These are just the current charges and these things can change pretty quickly.
