Omaha Nighthawks Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski was joined by United Football League Commissioner Michael Huyghue to unveil the UFL expansion team's new logo at the Qwest Center Omaha on Monday. The Nighthawks will play four home games at Rosenblatt Stadium in 2010 before relocating to TD Ameritrade Park in 2011. "I am excited by the new logo and can't wait to wear Nighthawks apparel and see our team wearing the Omaha uniforms," said coach Jagodzinski. "When the fans chose the team name I said I was delighted at the potential for a fighter jet theme associated with the logo. I also wanted team colors that look strong and physical." The F-117 Nighthawk - better known to the world as the Stealth fighter - was among the elements that provided inspiration for the team logo. Omaha has strong ties to military jet fighters as nearby Offutt Air Force Base hosts the 55th Wing and one of its units operates 46 aircraft, including 13 models of seven different types. Nighthawks fans will now be able to show their support for the team by purchasing team apparel through an online store at www.nighthawksapparel.com from Ideal Images at 13747 F St., Omaha 68137 (Tel: 402-596-1002). Bucky's convenience store, serving the Metro Omaha region with 25 locations, will carry Nighthawks t-shirts and caps, while Walgreens Metro stores and Lawlor's Sporting Goods in Omaha will stock t-shirts. Fans will not have long to wait to show off their colors as the Nighthawks will hold their first ever fan event on Wednesday, June 9, at 7pm at the Champions Run Country Club at 13800 Eagle Run Drive in Omaha. Food and refreshments will be served and all ages are welcome. For ticket information, fans may visit www.UFL-Football.com/tickets. Nighthawks season ticket packages are available from $40 to $140 and can also be purchased trough Ticketmaster.
