<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The "Roko Ukic soap opera" is finally over. Instead of playing summer league in USA for the Toronto Raptos, Roko Ukic decided to join the national team orientation camp. The ones who paid the price of Ukic not being drafted in the first round were his agent David Bauman, and his agency SFX. Instead, Ukic hired a new agent Robert Jablan of XL agency. He will take care of the 21-year-old?s career from now on.</div> Link I guess we won't be able to see Ukic until at least the pre-season games tip off. I don't know why he felt not being drafted in the first round was that important, since he is likely going to be getting a guaranteed deal anyway.
Well, he needs the money to buyout from his former team in Europe.. so he needs that extra Million or so to pay them off so he could play for Toronto..
He is going to get a guaranteed contract worth at least $1 million a season from the Raptors. Also teams have rights to pay up to $350,000 of the buyout clause.
At least he's staying active, but it would've been great for him to play in the SPL with CV3 & Graham. I had him pushing Alston for the starting PG spot when they drafted him. Now it looks like he's going to have to fight for backup honors with Williams & possibly Cook.
Why can't he push Alston for the starting guard spot? I mean, he's not playing in the summer league, but at least he's keeping active by playing basketball. I guess you have apoint though, b/c other players are already learning the Raps system and getting chemistry while he's playing a differnt kind of ball.
It won't take long until he convinces Mitchell that he is going to start. I don't see any major ways Rafer can improve, as far as his volatile personality goes.
