    United Move For Berbatov

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>According to The Sun, United last night lodged a ₤20million bid for Berbatov, thus finally following through on their long-term interest in the Bulgarian international.

Sir Alex Ferguson believes the ex-CSKA Sofia hitman will provide a perfect counterpoint to the likes of Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez in United’s forward-line, which has been missing a target-man since Ruud van Nistelrooy’s departure in 2006.

Berbatov has been widely tipped to leave White Hart Lane this summer after two sensational seasons that saw him tally 46 goals and a similarly impressive number of assists.

The former Bayer Leverkusen player is desperate for a return to the Champions League and has courted interest from the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan, but both were scared off by the 27-year-old's intial ₤30million price tag.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos is unwilling to sell his prize forward, but his extensive spending this year – totalling around ₤50million thus far – means he must bring in more funds before continuing his summer renovations.</div>

Its either him or Klass Huntelear, but I would for Bervatov because he is already a proven EPL scorer.

Agree Art, he's a proven striker. Hopefully Spurs agree to let him go. [IMG]

didn't really shine last season but big players like Rooney and Ronaldo (If he stays) could motivate him to be a very good striker.

I'd perfer Klass. He's younger, will be cheaper. ManU won't need the goals right off next year. They can wait for him to adapt if needed.

If Ronaldo leaves though Petey, then we would need both Klass and Berbatov.

Niether of them is a winger. Rooney can spend limited minutes there only.

What if he fails to adapt?...., I would take the proven striker over him, especially because either Ronaldo will be off to Madrid or be sidelined with injury for a while, waiting for him to adapt might not be good for manu.

If he fails to adapt, then he will be snapped up again by another big club.

Berbatovs agents says he is waiting to move, and it looks like they have filled that pure striking ability since they lets rudd van nistelrooy go.

Not necessarily true. Look at other quality Strikers that failed to adapt and are doing worse now then at their Previous Clubs.

Shevchenko was one of the world's best strikers until he moved to Chelsea.
Reyes was a quality player before he went to Arsenal.
Henry Was better at Arsenal then Barca.

    And So on.

I know Henry and Sheva could be put down to age but still. Reyes was the next big thing in Spanish Football, but he didn't like English Football and couldn't adapt.

Say If Berb gets pushed to the bench, he going to cry and sulk, like what he done at Spurs.

And when he does play, he going to cry and sulk because he going to say they dont pass to him, and when he like that, Rooney will go on a dry spell by just passing all the time.

Like reports claim, i want Man Utd to get Sergio A from A. Madrid. Now he a buy. Young and Talented.

To be honest I would not want him, we already have Van persie. I think Klass might be too overated, I would have to see him in a tougher league first to admit that he's the real deal.

I never quite rated ruud a spectacular striker, most of his goals were poached goals inside the box, Rooney gots more potential and even bervatov can fill nicely into manu's offesnse.
