I think this is the most evenly matched first round game. I'm glad it's the one CBS is showing in my area.
UNLV has the experience edge in this game. I love both Thad Young and Javaris Crittenton, but I don't think either are ready for this type of atmosphere. Also watching the GTech players get severe cramps in their last game, was a red flag. Most players cramp up when they're dehydrated or aren't in the proper conditioning. UNLV likes to push the pace, and I'm not sure GTech players have the stamina to keep up.
Nice little run by the Yellow Jackets to tie it up at 40. G. Tech's depth could cause problems. They're bench is outscoring the Rebels by 17.
One of the players in 1st place, davos bracket, has GTech making it to the Final 4. He must be sweating bullets.

Is anyone else tremendously disappointed in Georgia Tech? They have the perfect roster. I know I'm a sucker for a sexy roster, but you'd think a team with this much talent would have finished better than they did, with a #10 seed and a first round exit. Underclassmen Thaddeus Young, Javaris Crittenton, and Lewis Clinch all have legitimate NBA futures, and they have a lot of solid veterans that'd be stars on less-stacked teams in guys like Ra'Sean Dickey, Anthony Morrow, and Jeremis Smith. I know that might just seem like a bunch of names to people who don't avidly follow college basketball, but every one of those players has more individual ability than any single player on UNLV. The Yellow Jackets are really the definition of underachieving.
