<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It may have taken longer than he had hoped, but Odartey Blankson is on an NBA roster. Granted, it's a summer league roster, and he was added only because the Cleveland Cavaliers had an opening. But after going undrafted last month, Blankson, a 6-foot-7-inch forward who led UNLV in scoring and rebounding last season, was hoping someone would give him a shot at boosting his status as a free agent. He has yet to see the court in two games as he sat in the Cavs' 79-74 win over Portland on Wednesday in the Vegas Summer League at Cox Pavilion. "I know I can play out here," he said. "I just needed someone to give me an opportunity." Blankson knows he's a long shot to be invited back to fall camp with the Cavs. Even with the NBA expanding rosters to 14, there's probably no room for him in Cleveland. He's hoping if he can play and do enough things well in Friday's rematch against the Trail Blazers, some other NBA team might extend him an invitation to training camp or give him a spot in a summer league in Long Beach, Calif., Minneapolis or Salt Lake City. Mike Nalditch, Blankson's Chicago-based agent, said his client is good enough to make an NBA roster as a small forward, even though scouts have questioned Blankson's shooting range and his ability to guard quicker people. "Right now, he's focused on trying to make it (to the NBA)," Nalditch said. "It's my job to look at the big picture." </div> Source
