So the idea of this thread is to share some rare songs from well-known artists. From Dylan to Tupac, there are always great, underrated songs that never made mainstream releases, so I figured that I'd start a thread to share those.

    --------------------

    As an aside -

Is there any band out there that rivals the Red Hot Chili Peppers, not only in terms of the quantity, but also in terms of the quality of their unreleased tracks?

When I was thinking about posting an example for the RHCP, but I didn't even know where to start. With their recent b-side leaks, they have 3-4 albums worth of b-side material full of hits.

I've just never seen a band that's so prolific and good at the same time. I've always been a music junkie, and I still haven't found any one near the Chilis level in terms of producing amazing off-album tracks.

Anyway, out of the Chili's whole catalogue of b-sides, this one's so good that ya'll might actually recognize it -

Just a note.... I have a lot of the 2pac songs that have since been released posthumously. I got them through a friend in SoCal long before they were released through major studios. I personally think a lot of the originals are far better than the official releases that came a few years later. The beats they put the vocals to are too clean, too commercialized. 2pac would not have been happy.

As a big Sublime fan, and an even bigger Pharcyde fan, I have a remix of "Summertime" with the Pharcyde. Love it. I'll see if I can find and post.

Man, I miss the record store experience. I used to spend evenings and weekend afternoons as a teenager at 2nd Avenue Records and Djangos looking for obscure B-sides. So fun.

It may be a cover, but The White Stripes version of Jolene was a B-side on the Hello Operator 7"
