Unverified: Lakers still after "disgruntled All-Star"

A follow up by Chrome Hearts @ LG on his "Dinner Thread." Still an unverified rumor so take it for what its worth.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chrome Hearts:</div><div class="quote_post">Mitch still wants that "disgruntled all-star" on the Lakers. Phil is a little hesitant about this player but is willing to roll with it if Mitch insists. Phil is not going to resign or throw a hissy fit if Kupchak does indeed to deal for this player. This player is very interested in coming to the Lakers. His agent has been in contact with Mitch. Whether or not a deal gets done depends on this player's current team and its willingness to deal.

Contrary to PJ's ravings about Butler's ability on the court; Butler is the Lakers main trading chip this summer. Getting this player might involve giving up Caron + draft pick (10) + expiring contracts but the Lakers want to try to keep the draft pick (10). The Lakers are hoping to give Caron + expiring contracts for this player while using the Number 10 + other expiring contracts to trade up the draft. </div>Read the full post...

hmmmm...disgruntled allstar? chris webber? zach randolph? I'm not sure who they could be talking about...hoepfully its a post and not another wing, because at first, I was thinking it might be Paul Pierce, but that just wouldnt make sense...

I dont see why the Lakers would want any of those players. They are all old and injure-prone, which is not something that we need. They need a young, proven player.

I think it could be Paul Pierce. I'm not sure about his contract or anything but if it is possible, it could be Paul Pierce. After the incident in game 6 of the playoffs this year, Boston fans haven't been to happy with him. I think he has a problem with the coach aswell. This could make him disgruntled. Is there anything that couldn't make this possible?

Beside from this, I could definatly see Ron Artest coming to the Lakers.

From what I read in the Forum, its most likey to be Steve Francis.

The "alleged insider" stated in the original Dinner Thread that the "disgruntled all-star" is on a team that didn't make the playoffs.

With that said, Artest would be ruled out.

I'm going to go with Michael Redd, some thing tells me it's him I think they out Kobe at the point and Redd at the 2. It could also be Ilgalskus, you never know.

Still after.... weren't they supposedly after KG? His team didn't make the playoffs, he's definately an all-star. Just a thought but that was the name that first popped into my mind when i saw this thread.

The TWolves GM would be crazy to give KG to the Lakers though. It's not like opposing teams want their rivals to get better is it? I wish it would happen though...

The only way KG goes to L.A is if they get Kobe in return, it's the only way that the trade would make sene and there would be riots in Minnesota if they didn't get Kobe in return. Could it be Kirelenko? I think it's Redd or Big Z.

Ok here is what I think. It is one of the following players; Steve Francis, Jamal Magloire or Jason Kidd. Even though these players aren't All-Stars, they are All-Star calibur players and are all surrounded by rumors of being disgruntled.

True, but Kidd made the playoffs and Francis wouldn't fit weell with Kobe because he is an offensive PG who has the ball in his hands most of the time.

Magloire is the kind of dude we need on the inside though. Picking him up would be fantastic.

Magloire or AK47 would be welcome additions as well
