Jeeze, talk about a lack of respect. And we have the #1 seed in the tourney in our half of the bracket for game #3 if we make it that far. I never expected to see us lower than #9. Talk about disrespect.
UCLA gets a great seed and the team that beat them twice (us) is ripped off. I hate the NCAA. They might as well as made us a #16 seed.
Not the NCAA's fault, it's the selection committee. Clearly they had no idea what they were doing with the Pac-12, with Colorado seeded higher than both Cal and UO. Oh well, we all know 12-5 matchups are ripe for upsets; decent shot at one here.
Lack of respect and screw job aside, playing in San Jose against a team that doesn't have size isn't a bad spot to be for the Ducks.
Bucknell is an 11 seed. Bucknell lost to Penn State, who won 2 games in the Big Ten. Hi NCAA. I see what you did there, I think.
Playing in San Jose with both Cal and Montana there should be a nice home court edge, though. Western teams tend to stick together, unless they are rivals.
Sadly, the Ducks have no one to blame but themselves. 6 conference losses in their last 11 games, and none to particularly good teams = no national respect.
Losing Artis for 4 of those losses didn't help ... sadly Losing to Colorado and Cal, both tournament teams, kind of blows up your point, too.
automatic bid? seems like the pac 12 is suffering the ame fate as mid majors, and barely squeeking in....dumb
Total screw job IMO. This is just BS. We beat UCLA a twice one on the road and the other on a neutral court, beat Arz and UNLV(on the road) and we are tied for second in the regular season Pac 12 and win the Pac 12 tournament and we are 12 seed. UCLA & Arz are a 6 seed. They have us the 5th worse seed from the Pac 12. I heard the committee chairman say we were in without the win against UCLA but I really have my doubts. I just don't believe him and we were out unless we won the tournament. I think there were quite a few seedings I didn't understand but the Ducks were by far the worse. I also think we were also put in by far the toughest region. With all that I still think we could get by the first round and maybe the second even though I think both Okcst and Stl are both good teams.
I am disappointed with the seed as well. However, knowing a 12 beats a 5 almost every year I like my chances. A game against St. Louis in the second round will be tough. Then Louisville after that. A tough bracket for sure for the Ducks.
I'll take Oregon. Go find an OSU football player and a few sheep... I think UO goes as far as the Sweet 16 and then loses to Louisville.
Uncle Phil versus Uncle Pickens Very clever... Did the NCAA skew the seedings so one of the two "Sugar Daddy" schools would be out after the first/second round?
How I interpret this is that basically the Pac-12 tourney has no meaning to the selection committee. Sucks!
